Each day Charlyne communicates with you formally through "Charlyne Cares" and our broadcast programs. This is her way of communicating with you informally, so that you might be helped by reading what God is doing in her life. Entries will not be made here daily, but as the Lord leads Charlyne to share from the heart of a stander or returned prodigal. On other days, Charlyne’s husband, Bob, a prodigal husband who returned after divorce 20 years ago, will share what the Lord has placed on his heart. January 16, 2008 Starting The New Year! Did you start this new year out with new resolutions, new goals, excited about what this new year could bring in the future? Well, I did. In fact, to bring in the new year, I went to a seminar given by Dr. Elmer Towns from Liberty University in sunny Palm Beach Gardens, FL while the university was closed for the holidays. I was praying for the Holy Spirit to speak to me a new word for this new year. What a way to start off the new year! I sat in and audited the class while the other students were taking a special intense week of "Prayer: Strategies, Models, and History: 52 Different Ways to Pray." This was taken by many who were pastors, evangelists, and chaplains from across the United States who are working on earning their doctorate. The class was teaching the pastors the many different ways to pray because prayer leads to revival. I was greatly blessed that week and had great plans as I returned home. It was really funny as I was taking the course. I reminded myself to be aware that the enemy may try to attack me, so I felt forewarned and prayed up. Little did I know that the next day after my return I fell in our home. Early Sunday morning, I woke up sickly with a bad cold which turned into bronchitis, asthma and laryngitis. If the enemy can't get me one way, he often attacks me physically. He thinks he is winning, but he is not. My Lord is Jehovah-Rophe. I have been sick for nine days, (who is counting! ME!) and I saw a new doctor on Monday who was excellent as I have been allergic to two antibiotics last week and now some foods! "BLESS -- affectionately, gratefully praise -- the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name! Bless --affectionately, gratefully praise -- the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits--Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases, Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy; Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle's [strong, overcoming, soaring]! The Lord executes righteousness and justice [not for me only, but] for all who are oppressed." Psalm 103:1-6 ( Amplified ) I have been listening to "Stop Divorce Radio" much more these last few days. Bob has called me into his office/radio studio many times playing different CD’s to listen to how powerful the words of the songs are for our standers and to any future "prodigal-friendly listeners." Just as an example, Bob had a CD, "Lifeline" sung by Phillips, Craig & Dean. Let me share the names of the songs that we chose, "He’ll Do Whatever It Takes," "He Believes In Lost Causes," "I Want To be Just Like You," "Can I Get A Witness," "Strong Determination," "Build A Bridge Of Love." All the songs were so powerful that I could not believe it. Each one was a sermon in itself. I could not believe that Bob found this CD when he went shopping with Ryan, one of his grandsons on Saturday for more music. Bob never heard of the group, BUT GOD, knew what He wants played on "Stop Divorce Radio." To God be the glory of how the Lord is orchestrating this Internet 24/7 radio. Let me share a few more songs that you will be hearing in the future on "Stop Divorce Radio." Kim Hopper who is with a Southern Gospel singing group made a CD of her singing alone. The titles that Bob has chosen are: "The Road Home," "The Cross Said It All," "Sister's Keeper," "Spring Time's Coming," "Love Came Gently." Oh, I wish you had been sitting with me in Bob's office as I am thinking and then said out loud "That song is just what our standers need to hear, believe and stand on. They need to know that they are married for life and God will be with them in the darkest winter days and spring is coming!" Twenty-two years ago, music ministered to me over and over again. So, I can only tell you how I believe you need to grow in the Lord this new year as you read your Bible daily and pray, just talking to your Best Friend in the world, Jesus! Worship and praise your Lord in the midst of your circumstances. I pray that this new year you will praise your Lord on your darkest days or on a day that the Lord answers a prayer or blesses you. This is a year of new beginnings. Start praising the Lord and wait on the Lord’s timing for your marriage to start the process of marriage restoration. But in the meantime...Praise the Lord and listen to "Stop Divorce Radio." It is Bob and I speaking to you twenty-four hours a day! "When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!" "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." Luke 19:37-40 God bless, January 9, 2008 A Firm Foundation I have just come from one of those moments that, had I remained a prodigal, never would have happened. Scott, our son-in-law was dropping off his wife's work. Three of their four children were with him. The kids and I had to go outdoors and check the progress on a new home being constructed next door to us. Workers in trenches were starting on the foundation. Seven year old Ryan and the eight year old twins, Kyle and Kayla, were full of both comments and questions about what they saw. I can't express to you what a teachable moment it was to stand beside my grandkids, still in their uniforms from Highlands Christian Academy, and to explain how important it was for those workers to build a good foundation, just as it is important for each of us to build a good foundation in our lives. Kyle, our mini-Bible scholar had comments about foundation that he had learned from a Christian video. That was good, but nothing could replace standing beside Grandpa for this life-sized show-and-tell session. If I had not returned to my family over 20 years ago, who would have been here today to tell my grandchildren about foundations? Yes, their parents could have done that, but where would Lori and Scott be today if Lori's parents had gone separate ways forever? I have said it before, and if the Lord allows me to stay on earth, I will be saying it again, but there is no thrill in the "far country" that compares to moments like I had with those three kids today. Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to help to build the foundation of my grandkids. May my work always be strong and based on You. "By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." I Corinthians 3:10-11 God bless , Archived Posts:
