"The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident." Psalm 27:1-3

“Yesterday, I was low. My family members are going thru significant illness across the country. I had to go and help them for a week. I feared so much that my wife would move out of the house while I was gone. She is so tempted. I wanted to believe Jesus that my spouse would still be there when I returned. On the way to the airport I saw a Covenant truck. It reminded me to praise Jesus and thank Him in all circumstances. I arrived home to find that my wife had stayed in our house. Praise the Lord. I thank Him for every moment He gives me to stand in the gap and let His Love flow thru me to my beloved wife.” (Virginia)

In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comfort delights my soul." Psalm 94:19

"I work at a Christian camp and today, as part of staff prayer time, we read some of the response cards received from the 4th- 6th grade campers following one of our winter camps. By God's hand, I got one from a girl who wrote, 'God can change anything and even when the worst things that happen God can conquer them.' Praise God for the faith of a child used to encourage my heart as a stander." (California)

"My husband and I had problems. I found your website and started standing. Through the pain and despair I stood, sometimes making mistakes but continuing to stand. The divorce was final but I still believed that God would turn things around. Giving all praise to God, my husband and I remarried last weekend. It was a 'suddenly' return. People have come forward now, telling me how they had watched me from a distance and had been encouraged by my stand. Jesus gets all the praise." (United Kingdom)

“On Christmas Eve, at 6.00 p.m. (UK time) I will be speaking at our church during the Carol Service. I believe that the Lord wants me to speak about the Prodigal, He has put it on my heart that there will be prodigals there who would not normally come to church, who need to hear His word.” (England)

"My husband called me today after church and wanted to have lunch with us so we could talk. He has encountered money problems and wants to move into the basement of our home. Praise God! I will let the rest roll off of my back and let God work. I know that with God, the next move he makes will be back upstairs with his ring on." (Ohio)

"I want to give God the glory for restoring my family. It has been a long journey, but after being separated and planning on divorcing, my husband came home last month. My children are so happy and although we still have a lot of work to do, God is working it all out." (California)

"My son who is serving in the US Navy called me today. He has accepted Jesus. He was telling me how God has changed him. He is engaged and stated that he knows God has to be in his marriage. He also said that he is proud that I'm standing for our family. He said that I have set an example of a man that he wants to be. Praise God." (Texas)

“Praise God, I have been promoted at work and that has provided an avenue for my wife and I to have more conversations in the past week and a half than in past months. The conversations have enabled us to talk and for me to tell her about my stand for our marriage in a loving, calm way which has not been in my nature in our marriage. I praise God that He is moving in both of our lives.” (Connecticut)

"My elderly grandmother was gravely ill, clinging to life with the aid of machines. The doctors felt it was best to take her off life support and family agreed it was no way to live. With the funeral planned, my family said their goodbyes, knowing that my saved grandma was going home to be with her Lord. It has been over a week since the machines were turned off, and my grandmother is still here, breathing on her own. She even underwent surgery yesterday! I know this isn't the marital restoration testimony that you are used to reading about, but God has told me that He will do the same for my marriage. My grandmother was practically dead, just like my marriage, and God said He was in control. He is the God that breathes life into the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. (Romans 4:17)" (New Jersey)

"A few months ago I requested prayer for my food addiction and my weight. I have many health issues due to weight. I received bad news from the doctor a few weeks ago that my blood sugar and other factors were very high. God used these 'bads' for His good of breaking my addiction. I went on a strict diet, walk three times a day and have lost almost 20 pounds. God continues to break this addiction. My blood work is now closer to normal." (Ohio)

"When our tax lady called to ask me some questions, she commented that my husband seems to think that he and I are pretty good friends. Praise God. Since then there are times that he talks to me like we are the best of friends. God is moving." (Virginia)

"I have spend the festive season alone for three weeks as our children had to go to the prodigal per our divorce agreement. The other woman is Jewish and there was no Christmas. As my entire family gathered around the Christmas table, it was time to telephone my two daughters. Then a miracle happened. My cousin wished my husband a blessed Christmas and behold, my entire family who did not speak to my husband for 2.5 years, started wishing him one. I have a large family. My mother, who said she never wanted to speak to him again, said 'My son, I care about you.' All praises and thanks to God for changing me and then the change in my family towards my prodigal." (South Africa)

My husband asked forgiveness of everyone and said God had spoken to him in dreams. He thanked me for standing for our marriage. I have read 'Charlyne Cares' devotionals daily. Thank you for your daily support. My husband is home. What looked impossible, God made possible." (Oregon)

"My prodigal has been home for years, but lately I am having trouble treating him with the respect that I am commanded to do. My Lord has been working with me to change that. It was my disrespect that spurred my husband to look for it elsewhere. I can't make that mistake again. God is showing me that even though I say the respectful words if my attitude is not also respectful that my husband will see through it. God has made me a promise and He is working daily to fulfill that promise." (Oklahoma)

"The March 31 Charlyne Cares was as if someone was writing a biography of my marriage. Every situation in this story was mine. I have been asking the Lord to speak to me on ways to handle certain situations. They were all answered by this one email. I am waiting patiently for the day I can say my prodigal is home but more importantly that he is saved." (Georgia)

“I haven't talked to my husband in weeks. Today my son gave me a cassette player and I listened to three tapes that my husband had recorded for me. On one tape was the song he sang to me at our wedding. Once again, I am again believing and not giving up. I feel very strongly that my husband is thinking of me today. I will start praying again.” (Arkansas)

"I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints." Psalm 52:9

“After checking my car last Friday, my husband decided to buy me a second car. He wants to make sure I have back-up transportation. He also said he wanted to take my car for the next couple weeks to have it detailed and serviced. God is working. (I know He is even if this had not happened).” (Texas)

“I have been standing for my wife. It has been hard, but God has blessed me and my children in ways that are incredible. I just finished ‘The Prodigal's Perspective’ and I've been praying for God to show me He is still working on my wife. Last night, she left our home to go to her mother's house, as she does every night. Three minutes later, she returned with some excuse why it'd be easier just to sleep here for the night. Although she was in the guest room, she was in our home. This morning she rode with us to our kids’ basketball practice and even joked around with me a little. I know Satan is still pulling the tug-of-war back toward him, but I now know that Bob's words in his book apply even to my beautiful wife. God is so wonderful. He will restore us in His perfect time.” (Florida)

"My husband and I are divorced. He's very distant and cold towards me, but I know God is working on our marriage. He has given me so much strength and faith. I can't believe how strong I feel, even though I miss and love my husband terribly. Thank You God for taking care of our situation." (Costa Rica)

"The New Year's Eve message at Church was from Jeremiah 33:3. ('Call to me, and I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.') That day’s 'Charlyne Cares' was titled 'God Speaks To His Children' and Charlyne also quoted Jeremiah 33:3. What awesome confirmation." (Florida)

"We are a group of Latin American people who are praying for the restoration of our families in the name of Jesus Crist. We want to thank you for the daily 'Charlyne Cares.' The baby Jesus came with two more marriage restorations in our group this Christmas. All the honor and Glory to Him, because we serve a very faithful God." (Peru)

“I had not heard from my prodigal spouse in months. I had accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and started standing. Recently, I accidentally locked myself out of the house. I had no alternative, but to call my spouse. He was kind, and said he would be right there. I realized this was God's way of opening doors for communication. My spouse and I have now started communicating by email. He is helping me with babysitting. We recently celebrated his birthday by purchasing gifts for him, and took him out to eat. He told me that he wanted to be with us. He also told me how good I looked. I have made changes, but most importantly allowed Jesus to take over my life. The enemy is already defeated. I declare through blood covenant with Jesus Christ that my family is healed and delivered, and that my husband will come home.” (Georgia)

"Our anniversary was a few days ago. I spent the evening alone with no acknowledgment from my prodigal. Monday's "Charlyne Cares" was exactly how I was feeling. That devotion reminded me that it is about God's goodness, not my merit, and that we will have restoration in God's plan." (Colorado)

"Praise the Lord, my husband’s eyes have been opened. Last Sunday our pastor asked for families to come to the altar to make a new covenant with/for their family. I asked the Lord what to do. He said to just stand and wait. In a few minutes, my husband nudged me to go down to the altar. We prayed together, and then our oldest daughter and her husband, the two who gave us the most grief, came and placed their hands on our shoulders and prayed for us. Hallelujah! God is good, all the time. One of my husband's co-workers is having marriage problems and my husband has shared our story with him and we have prayed as a couple for the co-worker’s marriage." (Oklahoma)

"I want to praise God for answered prayer. My attorney, my prodigal's attorney and the court manager were to conference the final hearing date for our divorce. I found out this week that they were unable to set it due to the court manager being unavailable. Also, my prodigal has been checking in or coming by nearly each day after work." (Texas)

“Turn to me and have mercy on me; grant your strength to your servant and save the son of your maidservant. Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, O LORD , have helped me and comforted me.” Psalm 86:16-18

"This past Sunday my husband came to my house and asked where the keys were for my car. He fixed my brakes and I thanked him. That afternoon I made some chilli for him, as he always loved it. Today he came to school for our daughter's program, and we went in together and sat at the same table. We talked a little bit and I asked him if he tried the chili. He said he did and it was good. This is just a small thing, but it means so much to me. I praise God for all of it and know that someday we will be back together again, just as the Lord wants and says He will do." (Michigan)

"Thank You Jesus for providing for everything. I am not working and God has used people to pay my bills, give me clothes and provide my needs. Before my surgery I asked God to take away the torment because my husband was not with me and that all would go well with no pain. He answered. Someone took me to the hospital, stayed with me, brought me home, provided money for prescriptions and bought me groceries." (Texas)

"My husband informed me he was leaving. I began fasting and praying. Praise be to God, a few months later he came home. We are still healing and it is uncomfortable at times, but I know what my God promised me and I am standing on that promise. My husband and I will be restored. I believe the report of the Lord." (Kentucky)

"Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart." Psalm 27:14

"My brother was rushed back into surgery last Sunday. I found out that he almost died on the operating table. God is so faithful to answer prayers. We spent part of Christmas in the hospital but it was all worth it to hear my family praising God for my brother's life. God revealed His mighty hand to my family again. None of my family is saved, but I know that the Lord is working within them, just like in my husband. I have been reflecting on everything and God has done a miracle within my life. God rescued me from my old life and I know that He would not just rescue me but my husband as well." (New York)

"Greetings from India. I have had the wonderful opportunity to pray with a few women standing for their marriages, and also a young girl who is praying for her father. God has allowed me to be an encouragement to people here, and to head home with a renewed spirit, and excitement of what God is doing in marriages and families not only in the U.S., but also around the world." (Virginia/India)

"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?" Isaiah 58:6

"My husband went to visit his sister in another state. When my husband came back he gave me a card from his Mom. It was signed with love and from my mother-in-law. It was the first time she ever signed a card like that for me. My husband spent the holidays with us and is talking about coming home. To God be the glory." (California)

(From Bob) "Wednesday afternoon the Lord prompted two female standers to make online Ministry contributions within the same minute. Both donations were for the same amount. Both standers were even from the same state. Beyond that, both were even from the same city. In seventeen years, we have never experienced anything like that before. I asked Charlyne what it meant. Her reply; 'It means you better be figuring out what the Lord is trying to tell you.' Even though we have a Ministry policy against sharing stander information, due to confidentiality issues, this time I had to break the rule and ask each woman for permission to give her name to another same-sex stander in her home town. When God is using 'coincidences' like that to have two standing near-neighbors meet each other, I am going to listen." (Florida)

"My prodigal came to our city to attend our child’s Christmas program. The children and I had on coordinating colors and my prodigal arrived in the same colors. Praise God. The Lord allowed him match us. My husband was wearing his wedding band, something I hadn't seen in a year. I am praising God in advance for the victory of reconciliation." (South Carolina)

"My attorney called me to say that she was cancelling the mediation due to insufficient documents. My husband had a deadline to provide some information and did not comply. I know that God is working on us. I continue to pray for my husband’s return to his family." (Florida)

"There have been countless times when I opened my Bible as I pray for marriage restoration and the pages will open to the same passages. They are Ezra 10 and Haggai 2. I thought there must be a crease in the binding but there was none. After a particularly discouraging occurrence, I asked God when will my husband come home. Again the same pages opened in my Bible." (California)

"As part of our divorce settlement, our home is being sold. My heart’s desire is to keep our home but financially it will be a stretch. I have been praying for God's direction and reminding myself God has not given me a spirit of fear but of courage and today, God spoke to me through Bob's, 'No Place Like Home.'" (Illinois)

"Praise the Lord, my husband is planning on moving out of the apartment he shared with the other woman and getting a place of his own." (Washington)

"After my spouse and I separated, I took my wedding dress to a consignment shop to get rid of bad memories. It took two years to sell. By then I was regretful I had let it go because I was then standing for restoration. God was bigger than my mistake. One day I went into that same consignment shop. I had just told my prayer partner that I needed a sign that my marriage would be restored. I turned around and realized I was standing right in front of my wedding dress. God confirmed that he can restore anything." (Kentucky)

"My prodigal husband is going to Promise Keepers this weekend." (Florida)

“My husband is living in an adulterous relationship and I've gone several weeks without hearing from him. I was discouraged last week because our children had called him and left several messages and he did not return their calls. I felt the other woman was not allowing him to receive the messages. Thursday morning I prayed and asked God to allow us to see him without the other woman and for us to have a great time and good communication together that same afternoon, God specifically answered my prayer. I see Him at work in a great way. I believe with all my heart, my husband is coming home.” (Georgia)

“I was in court this week While I was waiting for my attorney to arrive, I was praying for a sign from God. Then the fire alarms kept going off Soon I was hearing the case was dismissed. I have never felt so loved, protected, cared for and about in all my life. Our God is awesome. The Holy Spirit has worked his miracle in me and is now working in my prodigal.” (Ohio)

"My husband came over to visit last night. This is his first attempt to spend time with me. We had a great time together and were able to relax and laugh. I'm hoping this is one step closer to him cancelling the divorce. Praise God." (Illinois)

"My children tell me my wife has started wearing her wedding ring. When I first started my stand, God showed me a grass- hopper in my urban garden, which was totally out of place. I was reminded of the verse about restoring what the locust devours. Recently on two occasions while driving through London’s major roads to work, a grasshopper has landed on my car’s windscreen, totally out of place. Thank You Lord, I trust You." (United Kingdom)

“I accepted the challenge today to fast something each day for the next 50 days for my love and other spouses to come home for the holidays. I praised God today for this opportunity as I prayed through my lunch break while on business and out of state. I feel like I am at the Red Sea, and no earthly hope but I will stand and wait for God to part the waters so that my family does not have the legacy of divorce. Thanks for standing with and for us, Bob and Charlyne.” (Colorado)
