Are You Feeling Blessed?

SONDRA AND ANDY ANDREWS:
TESTIMONY OF A RESTORED MARRIAGE

Sondra and Andy’s remarriage is a testimony that will encourage you and teach you many things also. If you are facing a long stand, or if you question God restoring marriages after a spouse legalizes their adulterous relationship into a non-covenant marriage, you need to hear this couple’s powerful testimony. If you question whether prodigals who come home stay home, listen to their testimony. They have been remarried for several years.

Have you ever scrolled through social media only to find a post from someone about a wonderful life event and to notice their comment, “#Blessed”? Is that person really blessed? What about the millionaire business tycoon who snaps a picture on his private jet? #Blessed? He has no relationship with the Lord, inherited his fortune, and has no personal peace. Is that really blessed?

What would happen if we got real, and instead of declaring every good thing that happens a blessing, we would understand that in the upside-down gospel, we are truly blessed when we are not at the top as the world sees it.

Jesus had many following Him throughout Galilee. He was preaching the Good News and healing people. Despite the number of people following Him, Jesus took the time to speak privately with His disciples.

Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”  Matthew 5:1-12

When you read this passage, do you wish you could have that intimate time with the Lord? Are you feeling very blessed today? Chances are you are feeling anything but blessed. You may say, “How can I be blessed? I have lost my job. My home is falling apart. My spouse doesn’t talk to me, and my kids are going crazy.”

When Jesus was speaking to His disciples, He was preparing them. He was warning them that just because they were following Him, they would not necessarily see fame, fortune, and happiness.

Blessed are the poor in spirit. – Are you poor in spirit? Have you realized your need for a Savior? Have you repented and turned your life over to Jesus Christ? Then, yours is the kingdom of heaven!

Blessed are those who mourn. Have you mourned? So many of you have experienced significant loss. Jesus has promised to bring you comfort. He sees the struggle you face without that loved one, job, or old life that you grieve over.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Do you long for more of Him? Do you desire righteousness like you desire water? He can be water for your soul. He has promised to fill you.

You are blessed! You are blessed when people insult you. This is a perfect example of an upside-down Gospel. It doesn’t seem to make sense, but when we filter it through the lens of God’s Word, we see His desire for our lives. Do you have friends and family who have hurled insults at you because of Christ? Do they think you have lost your mind because you are praying for marriage restoration? Jesus says you are blessed!

I know these days are long. I understand that they are hard. Some of you are facing an upcoming court date. You may be facing a health crisis. You may have children who have walked away from the Lord. Regardless of where your circumstances have you today, rest in the assurance that you are blessed!

“Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”  Matthew 5:12

Rejoice, and be glad today! Great is your reward in heaven. Jesus Christ loves you. He has not forgotten you. He hears every prayer you cry and sees every tear that drops. Today, rest in the assurance that He knew what we would face. He knew there would be hard times but rejoice in the fact that

YOU ARE BLESSED!

God bless,

This is so good Lori! Thank you! Father thank You that we are indeed blessed. Open our eyes to see Your blessings and help us walk in joy and peace as we wait on You to restore our marriages.

For every tear, there is a promise
A love that never lets me go
For every doubt, Your Word speaks louder
And I will trust, I will trust in You alone
