Charlyne Cares

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Being Different From The World

…To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:1-2

Around the world this weekend, men of God will be opening the Word to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with unsaved people. Your spouse may be sitting in a church listening to the Word being preached. My prayer is that the Word will be preached clearly and without error. I pray that men and women will repent and ask Jesus Christ to become Savior and Lord of their lives.

Every day when you wake up you are reminded of the trials and circumstances that you and your family are facing due to your marriage problems. Never doubt the power of God.

The enemy wants you to give up on your marriage. He will use many people and circumstances to encourage you to:

  • Stop praying

  • Stop reading God’s Word

  • Stop going to church regularly

Where are you today?

Cry out to the Lord and ask Him to transform you first. Decide today that you will follow the Lord’s voice as He leads you on the spiritual journey of marriage restoration. The first step is your spiritual growth. You must be different than the rest of the world. May I encourage you to examine your own heart, mind, and tongue and ask the Lord, “Am I living too close to the world’s standards and beliefs?”

I pray that you will reflect on how precious your faith with Jesus Christ is as Savior and Lord of your life. You are complete in Christ. My prayer is that you know of God’s grace in your life. The Lord wants to teach you so much if you will each seek Him every day.

As you pray and stand for your marriage to be restored, continue to grow and mature in the Lord. Choose to walk along the path of Christ-likeness to live a rich, full, victorious spiritual life. I pray that you will seek to become a doer of the Word of God, not just a hearer of the Word of God by never putting God’s Word into practice in your daily life.

In 2 Peter, Chapter 1, Peter listed the Christian virtues that each of us must develop and grow each day of our lives. This weekend, commit to the Lord to stop living for yourself and to start living for Him. Fully surrendered. If you haven’t listened to this podcast titled, Faith Resurrected, I encourage you to listen to it today. It will help you understand how to break up the areas of your heart where it is becoming hard to things of the Lord.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 2 Peter 1:5-7

Let me emphasize that the Lord is challenging you to develop the characteristics of a growing, fruitful believer. My prayer is that you will want to mature in the Lord, purifying your heart more each day.

The consequence of sin is death and destruction. May you never become weary in praying for your loved ones to turn from their sinful lifestyle to their Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives. Don’t give up on your spouse, your children, and loved ones. Jesus Christ shed His Blood on the Cross for all sinners. Let’s pray for a mighty harvest!

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11

God bless,
