Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Do Not Be Afraid!

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:26-33

Have you read the Christmas story in Luke 1:26-38 recently? We have a lot to celebrate this month. Our Lord and Savior was born! I like to read the story of Christ’s birth several times during this season.

I know how your heart is hurting. I understand how lonely these days are.

What is your greatest fear this Christmas? We have many standers who are facing divorce court in December. Please pray that all divorces are postponed or canceled forever! Others are watching their spouse plan their wedding to the other person. We know of standers who are facing personal or family health problems. We also have men and women who are facing unemployment and financial obstacles, in addition to their marriage problems.

You may be dealing with fear. Because of all that 2020 has brought, many people who don’t usually struggle with fear are finding it hard to trust an unknown future to Jesus. You may find yourself struggling with:

Fear of the future.

Fear of the unknown.

Fear of what this trial is doing to your family.

Fear of how you will provide for your family.

Throughout the Bible, we hear God speak to His children, “Do not be afraid.” The angel of the Lord, Gabriel, said to Zechariah, to Mary, to Joseph and to the Shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I am bringing you good news.” That was the message for them and for you! “Good News!”

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies. Psalm 118:6-7

Do not be afraid! God is in control of your life. Whatever happens has been filtered through the mighty hands of God. The Lord has spoken to His children since the beginning, giving them a message of instructions and then a promise.

May you always remember that the Lord has His plan for you, your husband or wife and your children. He wants you to follow Him. This Lord’s Day, spend time seeking the Lord and let Him calm all your fears. Remember, the Lord had a plan for Mary and Joseph far beyond what they could ever imagine.

“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her. Luke 1:34-38

“May it be to me as you have said.” Never forget how Mary answered the angel. What are you responding in your heart to the Lord as He speaks His will to you?

In the quietness of your heart, I pray that you will hear the still, small voice of God, reassuring you; “Do not be afraid, dear one, you have found favor with God, your marriage will be healed. This will happen for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.

Walk in faith and in victory! You are a child of God, so do not be afraid!

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

God bless,
