No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Joshua 1:5

Do you feel abandoned or rejected by someone you loved and trusted? I know how you feel. Every day allow your Lord to meet your every need; He will never leave or forsake you.

Your spouse may have said that they do not love you or want to be married to you anymore. I know there is a pain in your heart that you cannot describe, and you want it removed.

Allow your Lord God, right now, to become the great Physician and Counselor who can heal your broken and wounded heart. Today read Isaiah 54:4-17 which I believe will encourage you with promises for you and your family.

For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit— a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.”  Isaiah 54:5-7

What is the meaning of “abandon?” In the dictionary, it says: To give up (something) completely or forever; to leave… forsake; desert; SYN.– Abandon implies leaving a person or thing, either as a final, necessary measure or as a complete rejection of one’s responsibilities.

When I look up the meaning of a word, I am always amazed at how the meaning magnifies the true explanation of the word. When you start to study the word “abandon,” you can find mankind was abandoned in Genesis Chapter 6 by God. Only because of Noah being a righteous and blameless man was he chosen by God to build an ark to save his family.

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LordGenesis 6:5-8

We can praise the Lord that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for all the sins of the world. We must become burdened about our loved ones who are living in sin.

Throughout the Bible, we read about God’s children being abandoned or rejected. How many can you think of right now? I will get you started with Joseph, who was abandoned and forsaken by his brothers. Have you read this story recently? (Genesis 37- 50) May the Lord teach you much through this child who had a dream, shared it, and suffered for a long season in his life only to be used mightily by His God to save his father and brothers years later!

I pray that today will be the beginning of your healing if you were abandoned, forsaken, or deserted. God created you. God loves you so much. Allow your Lord God to heal you today regardless of your circumstances. God knows everything about you!

Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path  because of my oppressorsPsalm 27:7-11

Have you thought of anyone else who was abandoned, rejected, or forsaken? I hope you have thought of your Lord Jesus Christ! He knows how you feel more than anyone else. He had to bear all our sins upon His body at the cross for us to receive eternal life. Go to Him and allow Him to pick you up in His arms and love you as you have never been loved before. He will never leave or forsake you.

God bless,

Thank you Charlyne. I know abandonment all too well, by males that God placed in my life to protect me, father and later husband. It’s such a comfort that God does not approve of it, and therefore He stands with me to destroy it, it is the work of the enemy. It is even more comforting to know Jesus understands. Indeed God is perfect in all His ways. Thanks again.
