Do You Feel Betrayed?

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people. Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him money. He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.  Luke 22:1-6

Have you been betrayed by your spouse, a close friend, or even a co-worker? Are you facing trials, tribulations, court hearings, and problems? Do you have a spouse or loved one who appears to be your enemy at this time? Are you being attacked by the enemy?

Your Lord knows the pain of rejection and betrayal. Judas, one of his friends and disciples, betrayed his Lord for money. You may have been betrayed, wounded, and rejected, but your Lord God wants to heal your wounded, crushed spirit and make you a new wife or husband. Believe in His power to help you face your problems today!

Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.  Matthew 26:14-16

Jesus told Peter and John to go and prepare for the disciples to eat the Passover with them. Judas planned on betraying Jesus. Jesus understands your feelings and wants to be your best friend, Savior, Lord, Counselor, Healer, and Deliverer.

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.” They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?” Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?”Jesus answered, “You have said so.”  Matthew 26:17-25

The Lord then tells His disciples that they would “all fall away” and forsake him.

Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ “But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.  Matthew 26:31-35

After Jesus had revealed to the disciples that one of them would betray Him, the Lord spoke hope and encouraged them. You can read the details in John, Chapters 14-16. Please spend time reading these chapters. Jesus closed with a very special prayer for His disciples in John 17. You can pray this for your family. Remember all the words our Lord spoke throughout Holy Week to His disciples, which are so powerful and essential for us today. The Lord revealed to His disciples that He would have to suffer alone with God.

Today, you may feel like the disciples did many years ago in your marriage circumstances. The darkness may feel overwhelming. The hopelessness is frightening. But, you need to remember who you serve—a risen Savior who is alive. Believe in your miracle. Pray for many prodigals to repent and turn from their sinful lifestyle.

Jesus Christ paid the price, shedding His Blood on the Cross for all sinners to receive eternal life. Be careful not to be like Peter, as he denied knowing His Lord. Proclaim to others the miracles that the Holy Spirit is doing in your life every day!

God bless,
