Fight for your Marriage

Ep 134 – Never Too Far Gone – Porn Star Turned Pastor Part 1

Joshua Broome spent years in the adult film industry. To the world, he looked happy, but he was silently suffering with shame. A praying mother and grandmother never gave up on God’s ability to rescue Joshua from the enemy’s grip. God redeemed Joshua, and He can do it for your prodigal as well. Don’t ever think your prodigal is too far gone.

Hey Joshua
Great testimony man.

Revelation 12:11
“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.
And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”

I appreciate your honesty & vulnerability, hence the way we all should be,
considering it was only Jesus who paid the price for our freedom.
No one makes it out alive without Him.

How can we afford to be prideful about our “good works” in comparison to what He has done for us.

Luke 7:47
“I tell you, her sins, and they are many, have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”

You can hear the conviction of your faith, and the revelation & wisdom Holy Spirit has given you through your restoration process.

Why is the perception of the lost, in many times more often than we would like to admit, that we, as Christians, so quick to pick up the first stone?

Is it because we don’t see ourselves in the same picture?

Is it because we aren’t self aware enough to realise our own failings or addictions might be easier to hide?

I don’t say that out of pride or judgement. I was the worst sinner, forgiven & chastised much. I’ve been a prodigal & a stander, running away from God & the calling on my life.

My initial prayer after “Help” & “Lord, please take me now” when my wife left 11 years ago, was “Lord change her”.

Clearly we didn’t have the same conclusion. He had other ideas.
I didn’t know any better. He’s obviously taking His time & saving the best till last.

It was obviously He needed to change me. To be the man of God He had called me to be, the husband, for He knows the plans He has for me, not to harm me, but to give me a hope & a future.
I’m pleased to report…even though I’m far from perfect, I’m closer to the man He always intended.

(Which is actually great as it takes away all the pressure, so I can just be the person He’s called me to be without fear or the false expectations or agendas of others )

As the first Christian in my family since Abraham,
I’m not “only” standing for my marriage to be restored & my wife to be saved.

I’m standing on His word, His promises, that age old Generational Curses are being broken & strongholds are being pulled down.

Because most importantly

“As for me, me & my whole household shall be saved”

My whole family “RESTORED”

Sorry for the rant…I just felt led to remind us we are all on a journey…
It’s easy to judge if you only want to focus on the valleys, rather than the final destination.

Another great point you made Joshua, was about “knowing our identity in Christ” &
“Self Awareness”. How do we aim to change our actions & motivations, and work through issues, if we can’t acknowledge them first.

God bless you & your family Joshua, ministry and the plans He has for you brother.
I also pray for Holy Spirit boldness to preach & tell your testimony wherever He leads you.
I also pray for a hedge of protection over your life…no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Be encouraged mighty men & women of God.

You are not alone. God is with you.

It’s not just our marriages or families we standing for.
It’s for Truth.
The only Truth, that sets the captives free, for generations to come.

Zechariah 4:6
“Not by Might,
Nor by Power,
But by My Holy Spirit”
Says The Lord

God Bless Rejoice Marriage Ministries, Charlyne & Lori, staff and all my fellow standers.
He chose you all, for “Such A Time As This”

Thank you so much, Joshua for sharing your remarkable testimony. I look forward to hearing Part 2 of the recording.
Earlier today, I lamented to the Holy Spirit about lost prodigals who are so far gone in the kingdom of darkness. I ‘confessed’ to the Holy Spirit with the momentary resignation, “can so and so really ever see the light of the gospel of Christ Jesus? Isn’t his heart so hardened and his emotions so entangled to a point of no return? Of course I had not forgotten all the exemplary encouragement by RMM in words and deeds, and the convincing voices of Charlene and Lori. I was just exhausted from keeping the altar fire burning. Your testimony is a stark reminder of how deep God can go to redeem His lost sheep. The testimony is super encouraging; it’s another stream in the stander’s desert. Thank you all at RMM!!

I am so thankful that God led me to today’s podcast, which ended up leading me to this previously recorded podcast. I am a stander for a third time with my husband of 23 years. This time around my husband became an in-home prodigal as of February 2023. He has never left the home but has always “checked out” of the marriage as far as intimacy and spending time with me is concerned. This time around I am in a different place with my spiritual maturity as it relates to standing for my marriage. I now understand that I had my husband as an idol all along and God has been using my husbands hardened heart on all 3 occasions to get my attention so that I can stop idolizing my husband and put God first. A few months ago God gave me a scripture about my current situation. Now I don’t struggle with pornography, but the reason why I am so amazed by listening to this podcast is because Joshua spoke about how the bank teller called his name “Joshua.” It was the first time in a very long time he had heard his name called, and it made the difference between him living, and leaving the bank contemplating suicide that day. I have been praying for God to reveal to me the true meaning behind why He gave me the scripture that He did, and now after listening to this podcast – I NOW KNOW WHY! Joshua Broome said the name Joshua means “God saves.” My scripture reading from God is from the book of Joshua, chapter 1, verse 9. God is telling me to be strong and courageous because “God Saves!”
Thank you Lord for RMM and this podcast promising me that You will save my marriage!
