I’ve been standing for 2yrs. We married with not having children together but a blended family of 9 children. It feels like I’m loosing because he has said his children comes first. When I listen to most of the podcast and read the devotionals nothing relates to blended marriages. This is my first marriage but his second
Thanks so much for this podcast! I was just crying recently because of the loneliness, and crying out to God for help. I am in year 22 of standing, and no visible sign of my husband turning to the Lord. I told God that I will keep standing, though my emotions are a wreck…God bless you all for this encouragement!
wow Rebecca, 22 years? was that a typo? But what conviction you must have. What you need to get to is a full release to the Lord and be focused only on becoming the best Rebecca that God created you to be- without your husband. Who is Rebecca? What blessings did God give you to bring to others in the world? Are you taking care of yourself, the body he gifted to you? And do you have joy? The Joy of the Lord is our strength. Be joyful and find happiness within, not from others. And realistically, your husband will never desire to come back unless you find this.
Thank you for your discussion. IMHO We must be very careful on sharing bible verses with our distant/left spouse. Some of us may have been in a righteous behavior over our spouse when we were very much sinning against God (typically unintentionally) which contributed to them leaving.
For ex. being of a critical spirit or not loving them or respecting them how we should. And particularly, if they are someone who was not close to God, this could be seen as a hypocrite and may have pushed them away from God even further. Which, imho, we must tread lightly in regards to sharing the bible or telling them what God wants them to do, etc., but instead we SHOW them by our actions how God has changed us and shown us the light in who he meant for us to be and how we should have been treating them all these years.

Thank you for including the Christopher & Angela Yuan Family testimony in this post. There aren’t words to express how powerful the ENTIRE family’s testimony is. I’m blown away. Chris is such an excellent speaker, and though he was a prodigal son, his testimony is so worth the listen.
He said, “One’s identity shouldn’t be in one’s desires, whether sexual or romantic…one’s identity should be in Jesus Christ alone.” Applied to a stander, it is the same: one’s identity shouldn’t be in one’s desires, whether as a spouse in a restored marriage or as a spouse continuing to stand with in wait for a prodigal spouse…one’s identity should be in Jesus Christ alone.
Amen!
