Fixer Upper (We Buy Ugly Homes)

Each week we share guest devotionals. The views expressed below are those of the writer and may not reflect the views of Rejoice Marriage Ministries or the Steinkamps.

Has the Lord placed a devotional on your heart that you would like to share with other standers?

Jesus, who is a master carpenter and builder, was in search of prime real estate. He wasn’t searching for homes that were already fixed up; instead, He wanted a “fixer upper.” He sought to purchase homes that were broken, destroyed, ugly and abandoned, the homes that no one else wanted.

Over the years He became this real estate mogul, purchasing homes all over the world. When He bought these homes, He examined them thoroughly and saw that some had good structure and some needed cosmetic/aesthetic work and some needed to be torn down completely and rebuilt from the foundation.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.  Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)

Jesus labored day and night, taking His time fixing and rebuilding these homes. When He was done, these homes were built with the best craftsmanship. The interior and exterior were so exquisite, using the best materials. They were a vision of splendor inside and out.

“O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted, Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, And lay your foundations with sapphires.  I will make your pinnacles of rubies, Your gates of crystal, And all your walls of precious stones.”  Isaiah 54:11-12 (NKJV)

There was so much warmth and comfort. The homes were then furnished with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (fruits of the Spirit). Galatians 5:22-23. Jesus was so pleased with the work He’d done and the masterpieces He created, He decided to keep every home for Himself, occupying each and every one of them.

Are you a home that needs fixing up? If so, I know a guy with perfect credit, who will purchase you “as is” and turn you into a beautiful, livable, and sustainable building.

‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?”  Mark 12:10-11 (NKJV)

God bless,

Khali in Delaware
