Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth…Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.  Psalm 100:1, 4-5

As we approach the holidays, I often encourage you to pray about inviting your prodigal for the celebration. Will you be bold and specific in your prayers until Thanksgiving and Christmas have passed? Will you not only pray for your situation but also for the many others in a similar place with their prodigal?

I know you do not want to be hurt again, but what would be so bad about inviting your spouse to come home for the celebration? Your invitation may be an answer to their prayer.

If your spouse declines your invitation, don’t get discouraged. Your invitation shows that you love them unconditionally and desire their company. It may take many invitations for your spouse to understand that you are steadfast in your love for them.

You might personalize and pray Psalm 51 for your beloved husband or wife.

Have mercy on _____, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion, blot out _____ transgressions. Wash away all _____ iniquities and cleanse_____ from their sins. For _____ knows their transgressions, and _____ sins are always before _____. Against you, you only, has _____ sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so you are right in your verdice and justified when you judge. Cleanse _____ with hyssop, and _____ will be clean; wash _____, and they will be whiter than snow…Create in _____ a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within _____.  Psalm 51:1-4, 7, 10

God is moving! Are you ready? We hear from people all the time who say, “They came home suddenly, and I was not ready.” Is your home ready? Are their closets and drawers empty? Are you ready emotionally, physically, and spiritually? We are praying for thousands of spouses to come home during the holidays.

Have you joined the 7-Day Praying for Your Prodigal Prayer Challenge? This is a purposeful way to pray over specific areas of their life. Text the word PRAYER to 954-807-4699 to get the prompts sent to you.

Our first prayer is that the Holy Spirit will convict people who have fallen into sin. May they understand they can repent, turning their hearts to their Heavenly Father and their families. Jesus Christ died on the cross for every sinner to choose to have eternal life. Pray that your husband or wife will turn their life back to the Lord.

“In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10

Today, let’s pray that all prodigal husbands, wives, and prodigal children of all ages will decide to repent and recommit their lives to restoring and rebuilding their marriage.

Lord, may you touch and soften all these prodigals’ hardened hearts and renew their minds to invite the other parents to their dinners and have the family together for one day. Lord, may you open the prodigal’s heart to reveal how much they enjoy having their family together, having no strife but harmony. May you melt the mountains like wax this Thanksgiving for many families. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

God bless,

Jerry Falwell has said, "Nothing of eternal significance ever happens apart from prayer."

Satan wants to see your family destroyed, but through prayer, you have the opportunity to intercede for your spouse. We wanted to share some prayer prompts that you can pray over your spouse for the next week.

Amen! Thank you Charlyne!

Your love never fails
Nothing can separate
Even if I run away
Your love never fails

I was very nervous, but I stepped out in faith and texted my husband to join our family on Thursday. I know that whether he comes or not, the Lord wants me to make sure he knows that this is his home, and he is loved and welcome whenever he wants to be here.

Thank you for encouraging us not only to Stand, but to reach out even if we’re afraid of rejection. The Lord stands with me and loves me scared as much as He loved me when I was bold, and He’ll be my strong tower until I’m not afraid anymore. I want my beloved to know that kind of love again, so I want to keep letting God reach out through me. Thank you again for all your encouragement and prayers.

Love this. I continue to invite to all holidays since he left 7years ago. Thankful for one Christmas that he attended and trusting God continues to work and bring Him back to Jesus. Happy Thanksgiving all at RMM.
