Fight for Your Marriage

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

God’s Promises Are True

Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.  Psalm 119:49-51

The Bible is filled with promises. Are God’s promises strengthening your spiritual walk? Are they helping you to stand firm and persevere for your marriage? What promises has the Lord shown you since you started standing? Some are directed at specific people in the Bible, and others are for us.

I love Psalm 119. I encourage you to take the time to read it. It is longer than some, but take your time and read it a little slower, digesting the words so they will go from your mind to your heart. The scripture below came alive as I prayed for my marriage to be restored.

Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life. May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.  Psalm 119:38-42

This is a season when you can seek the Lord like never before, crying out for His wisdom and direction. Ask the Lord to hold you in His arms and tell Him your doubts and fears. Then ask Him to give you a new Word for today regarding your spouse and marriage.

Do you need confirmation about standing for marriage restoration and doing God’s will for your life? Then go to your Heavenly Father, who loves you so very much. Ask Him to show you scriptures that answer those questions.

You are my portion, Lord; I have promised to obey your words. I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes. I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.  Psalm 119:57-60

Has your hope been dying due to your circumstances? God’s Word is anointed and powerful, bringing you hope, strength, perseverance, and peace during any storm.

Do you need an example of someone who had to wait on the Lord but received His promise?

As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.  Romans 4:17-24

Abraham was a powerful example of faith and commitment to God, regardless of the circumstances. Where are you? How do you measure up? Abraham was “fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.” That was credited to him as righteousness. Do you believe God has the power to heal your family? Are you reacting like an infant, or are you growing and maturing in the Lord, seeking His will and way in everything?

I understand the enemy may discourage you, but the Lord God is greater. If you are weary and tired, reread Psalm 119 about God’s precepts and promises. Allow the Psalms to minister healing to your wounded heart. Your Lord God will strengthen and sustain you. Never forget the power in God’s Word!

We can pray in agreement for all spouses, children, and loved ones who are blinded, living in darkness, and speaking hatred, anger, unforgiveness, and deception. The Lord has a million ways to speak to His lost children and those who have gone astray from following and obeying their Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s pray for the Lord to touch and change many hearts and lives!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful…So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.  Hebrews 10:23, 35-36
