Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Help, I’m in Trouble!

Do you need help? What are you going to do with so many problems and no answers? Where do you go for help? Who do you ask for guidance? Do you feel helpless? I did. When Bob was out in the pigpen of life, I not only faced problems, but I did not have a spouse to help me come up with the solutions.

Read Psalm 56 for your devotion today. When you have problems or if fear is coming against you, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord for who He is, for His commands, scriptures, and protection.

Be merciful to me, my God, for my enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack… When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise — in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?  Psalm 56:1,3-4

The Lord showed me Isaiah 54:17 when I was learning to pray for my husband and my children. I kept repeating it throughout the day when all the circumstances came against me. When I said it, I felt such peace from God. I learned to stand and believe in God’s promises. At the beginning of my stand, I did not understand the promises of the Bible, but the Lord taught me the power of His Word.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”  Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me.  Psalm 57:1-2

Do you believe this? Do you believe in the power of the Lord? Your Lord God will become your Protector and Deliverer. Remind yourself every day that God is on your side. The enemy has attacked your home, and your spouse is blinded and deceived.

Regardless of any circumstances overwhelming you, know that God is in full control of your every step. He can shut the lion’s mouth. He can keep the fire from burning you. He can defeat your enemies. He rescued people throughout the Bible, and He is no respecter of persons. He will rescue you every day of your life.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.  Psalm 32:7

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  1 John 4:4 (NKJV)

Keep looking up to your Lord and not at all your circumstances. Trust Him. Believe in His Word and claim the promises that He has given you. He will never leave or forsake you or your family. He wants you to be the lighthouse for your family. Let your beacon shine through the clouds that now seem to surround you.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? All day long they twist my words; all their schemes are for my ruin. They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life…. Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise–in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.  Psalm 56:3-6,9-11,13

He said: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me. “I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies…. He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.”  2 Samuel 22:2-4,17-20
