How is your faith?

100 days faith over fear

You must have faith to stand and believe for your miracle of marriage restoration! What is faith? Two words can describe faith: sure and certain. Faith is believing in God’s character – He is who He says He is. The second point regarding faith is believing in God’s promises – He will DO what He says.

How would you rate your walking in faith every day? The Bible tells us that we don’t need great faith, just a small amount of faith. Do you have faith the size of a mustard seed?

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see…. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  Hebrews 11:1, 6

When was the last time you read the whole chapter of Hebrews 11? Let me urge you today as part of your devotions to read this powerful chapter in the Bible. When I started standing, I did not understand faith.

One Sunday, I went to the altar, praying and crying for Bob’s heart to be changed and for all my circumstances I was facing. An older, saintly woman, whom I knew, came up and started praying for me. She kept saying, “Charlyne, have faith in God. He will get you through all these circumstances. He can heal your wounded and broken heart. He can touch and change Bob. You just need to have faith!” I told her that I did not have ANY faith. She quickly responded, “Yes, you do! Do you believe you have eternal life?” I answered, “Of course.” She replied, “Then you have faith!”

“But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”  Hebrews 10:38

Are you starting to see the picture that I am drawing for you today? We get into our car, turn the key and have faith that it is going to start. We walk into our living room and sit on the sofa without checking it out first because we have faith it will hold us. I may sound silly, but I want you to understand that we walk around all day believing in objects. I want you to believe that you already have enough faith, to trust in what the Lord wants to do for your marriage.

He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”  Matthew 13:31-32

A mustard seed is very tiny and that is the exact size of faith that you need to start praying and believing for your miracle of marriage restoration. Do you have that much faith in God?

I am going to say it again: You must have Faith! You need to have faith to pray for your child who is sick, confident that your Lord God will answer your prayers. You need to have faith to pray that your Lord will intervene and help you in your financial problems. If you receive bad news that your mother, father, or a loved one has an incurable disease, are you going to be the one to have faith for the Lord to open the door sometime that you will be able to talk to them about accepting Jesus Christ as Savior? Do you have faith to pray that your Lord will heal them? Do you have faith that your Lord can touch and change your spouse’s hardened heart?

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.” “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:14-21

What a powerful scripture! Read it again. We must have faith. You must take that leap of faith as you did the day you accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life. Choose to live by faith every day of your life. To be a Christian, you must have faith.

For we live by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

How can you continue to increase your faith? Start growing in the Lord. You can read God’s Word daily, read Christian books and listen to Christian radio or television. Let me share a scripture that tells you how to do it easily.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.  Romans 10:17

  1. Thank you for the encouragement. Father increase our faith and help us in our unbelief. Father fill our homes with Your glory . May the enemy be driven out, marriages restored and Your Name honored when people hear our testimony ( Haggai 2:7)

    Build my life

  2. I KNOW that nothing is impossible for God. He create the universe! Who can be more powerful than that?
I KNOW He has changed hearts, healed marriages and saves. There is none like Him.
My problem is believing that He will do it for me.
Who am I that He would look at me, save my husband and heal our family?
He has already given me more than I deserve. I am saved. He owes me nothing, whereas I already owe Him everything.

We are all so undeserving of the gifts the Lord has given us. Thank you for pointing our attention to all that we do have despite the challenges we face. We are praying that the Lord will move the mountains blocking your husband’s return. Mark 11:23

We will be praying for your faith to increase. It is hard to see how and when God will make a way, but we know that He is faithful! (Psalm 118:6)

  3. Please pray for our youngest daughter Candace to be healed of autism. Her blood test recently showed a high level of prolactin in her brain and her doctor is ordering an MRI to see if it’s a tumor. My husband, her father us in a non-covenant marriage and there’s no communication between us. Please pray for restoration of our marriage in Jesus’ name. We gave three older daughters and this year us our 25th wedding anniversary. God gave me a job now working in the same state where my husband currently stays with the non-covenant. He knows where I work and where to find me, may my husband locate me today and our marriage be restored suddenly and your youngest daughter be healed suddenly, in Jesus’ name.

You have a lot that you are dealing with Janine. Thank you for sharing this request. We will be praying for Candace’s scans to come back clear and for her healing. We know that God is able! We will also pray for strength as you walk through the daily challenges alone. (Psalm 118:14)

  4. Thank you, Charlyne, for offering to pray for us! And for the gift of RMM. I need faith to believe the enemy is defeated no matter what I see. I *know* he is, but sometimes it is harder to walk it out in our daily lives.

What you are facing is so common, Kate. Thanks for being transparent about the areas where you are struggling. We will be praying for your faith to be renewed every day! (Jeremiah 32:27)

  5. Please pray for me to have more faith that God will restore my marriage. I don’t need to include the details, God knows them and what is on my heart. Pray that He brings what He has started to completion. I’m a long time stander.

Thanks for sharing this request. We will be praying for your faith and family to be strengthened in this season of waiting.

  6. Please lift up my niece, Valerie, in prayer for healing of a cancerous brain mass that is currently being treated with a regimen of radiation and chemotherapy. Her treatment started this week on Monday and from my understanding is daily. Thank you for praying, charlyne.

  7. My faith is weak in the area that my husband (ex) can come to know Jesus and fully surrender to him. I am believing for complete restoration and I know this is hindering my prayers for my spouse and our marriage. I want to believe he will have a relationship with God.

  8. I am with Lynn, one of the first few commenters on this post. I want to be honest because I’m not afraid of God who already knows right where I am in this….
I have no doubt God CAN do miraculous things. I know that He hears me and wants the best for me and for my family. I have no doubt that God CAN change my husband and restore him back to Himself. I have no doubt that my marriage can be healed, restored and even better than I have EVER imagined. But I have received no specific promises on any of that…..and I struggle because I don’t know that he WILL do those things for my situation. I don’t know that I will be one of the “lucky ones” or the ones who prayed hard enough or right enough or had the right faith to receive my desires.

My husband is now an agnostic (we once served overseas as missionaries)….and he says we just manipulate ourselves, feed ourselves lines to make ourselves feel better and we brainwash our children to do the same. I can see where he gets that from – there is a lot of psychology to that (feed on negative and you will be negative etc.)

Not all marriages are healed and restored so how do I work that out? We prayed with faith that my mother-in-law would be healed from her cancer, but she wasn’t…and my husband would say “we tell ourselves that God healed her “on the other side” to make ourselves feel better about an unanswered prayer…Christians will always just tell you to “reorient your brain” and “pray harder”.

I’m not even sure how to explain all that I feel and think about this, but I feel like I’m probably not the only one who has these thoughts and struggles so just gonna put myself right on out there.

I AM a person of faith…I know that God will take care of me…but it may not be what I want (so does that mean I am too much of a ‘realist’ and I lack faith in that situation….)

Pray for me and for my husband (in-home prodigal who has threatened to leave multiple times and who is becoming an alcoholic…) and for spiritual protection over our boys. Some days are so very, very hard

  9. Please pray that my faith in God’s ability to heal and restore family relationships grows in strength, despite the number of years of suffering. Please pray for conversion of my adult children and husband. And join me in praying for the Holy Spirit to come to the aid of anyone about to embark on a journey of pain by abandoning their marriage. They are often blinded by their circumstances and the advice of well meaning friends, family, and church members.
