Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

How Long Must I Wait, Lord?

How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.  Habakkuk 1:2-4

“God, where are You? I need to hear Your voice and direction and feel Your peace.”

Is that one of your thoughts during the hard days?

Do you ask, “God, why did this happen to us? What caused this to happen to my spouse? Why are You allowing my children to be hurt? God, the pain in my heart feels like it will burst and rip out of my chest. Please help me. I can’t stop crying. God, are You here with me? Speak loudly to me, as it seems I can’t hear Your soft voice anymore. God, why are You not doing something about all my spouse is doing to our marriage?”

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?  Psalm 13:1-2

“Why God? Where are You?”

I understand your pain and questions. Don’t panic and don’t allow the enemy to attack you with fear. God is in control.

Habakkuk, a prophet, was also questioning why God was tolerating evil, violence, injustice, and destruction of the righteous. Habakkuk often wondered, “Why does God wait so long to punish evil? Why are our prayers not being answered quickly?” Habakkuk asked God, “Why are You allowing the wicked to prosper?” God spoke to Habakkuk and explained to him what He was going to do. May these scriptures give you hope and confidence in your mighty God for your marriage problems.

“Look at the nations and watch–and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”  Habakkuk 1:5

Then God explained to Habakkuk that He already had plans to punish Judah for its sins. He was going to use another ruthless and pagan people, the Babylonians, to correct Judah. Habakkuk was astonished that God would use wicked people to punish Judah.

Habakkuk learned to trust God and to live by faith in God’s way, regardless of the circumstances. God told Habakkuk that He already had plans, that He was going to punish His people with a nation more wicked than they for all their sins. God wanted Habakkuk to wait for God’s appointed time. There was going to be an ending to the wickedness in the world. God’s faithful people had to be patient.

I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me and what answer I am to give to this complaint.  Habakkuk 2:1

Will you choose to live by faith every day? Will you wait for your beloved spouse to see the error of their ways, to hear God’s voice and surrender to Him? It is all right to cry out, “Why God?” sometimes, but then choose to become like Habakkuk, waiting to hear the Lord’s answer.

Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.  Habakkuk 3:16-19

While you are waiting for the Lord to touch and change your spouse’s hardened heart, will you choose to rejoice in the Lord every day, to stand firm if you are being persecuted, and rejoice regardless of your circumstances?

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:4-7

Will you choose today to proclaim with confidence the ultimate victory of all who live by faith in the Lord? Your Lord God will defeat your enemy. He does touch and change hardened hearts. Are you willing to wait?

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.  Psalm 27:14

God bless,

I guess this is what is hard for me…@RMM God is confirming over & over & speaking so it makes me think it is right around the corner…this is why I feel like I am being teased or mislead…when I know He isn’t a God to do that…I just don’t understand why I have to wait for something like this when it is according to His will what I am praying. He doesn’t want me & my husband to be apart so I don’t understand why there is not a sense of urgency to restore.. I am not God so maybe that is wrong of me to question Him that way…but knowing He can, but not seeing it happen is hard. & then therefor it causes me to question what I believe He has shown me & second guess it…I just think it is too many things though to be a coincidence…I just get so discouraged when someone tells me today – you think because God shares the same scriptures over & over with you that that means He will restore your marriage…where in the bible does it say a scripture specifically about restoring marriage & keeps reminding me how God may want it all day, but my husband has free will…God will not force him…so then what would all the confirmation be for then? & even confirming it is a promise? Can God confirm something is a promise & it not come to pass because of free will? I just am struggling with all of this & thinking too much…

My suggestion to you is to be careful to whom you share so not to be shot down in discouragement. Of course God wants to restore your marriage. God has a hundred different ways to speak to your husband specifically. He spoke countless times to Bob. I am certain that He is speaking right now to your husband in myriad ways. I am mindful of Proverbs 21:1 The king’s (name of hubby) heart in the Lord’s hand is llike streams of water He directs it wherever He pleases.

I know & this is someone who I trust. Someone im close to, but yes the things she said upset me because when I think about the free will it scares me. Did you see my comment on the other posts? The update about attorney requesting the counseling & how my husbands attorney shot back opposing it…so now it’s going into a hearing ugh. This is where I’m like ok God now would be a really good time for you to intervene : ( so you showed me that verse I have never seen it before. & then the other night ago I was listening to a marriage restoration video from this lady I really like on YouTube & she shared that verse!

This is my second time standing. My husband returned before several years ago. I have learned I should have never stopped, but back then the goal was restoration. This time it is different. My focus is not on my husband but on God and what he wants to do in my life. I have asked Him to change me. Through obedience to His word, it is like I have found some super power within me. I told Him just today that it feels like 100,000 warriors are inside of me. Pray for your husband. Pray for yourself. You may find that there is a greater goal worth striving for and a restored marriage is just the icing on the cake. No matter what happens, I know I have God and He is sustaining me. I hope you find your strength. Remember, God is working! You have just not seen it yet in the natural.

Well if God did it before, He can do it again! I want that same super power please. To feel like I have 100,000 warriors fighting warring, & praying within me. I think it’s harder for me because I’m younger, but in the age now I should start having kids… & I have no kids & I really want to be a mom. I want to see our marriage fully restored & to be a mom. So bad. : ( to have our own family.

If you were me & you watched a video on a marriage restored testimony & it was called – A promise is a promise & then you asked God if it was a promise & then the next day your devotional was called word for word – A promise is a promise… a promise on marriage restoration. Would you think that was God telling you – Yes, this is a promise. I’m restoring your marriage?

I don’t know how else to interpret it. If it’s not a coincidence. For some reason my mind just goes to that…

& no I have not seen it yet in the natural : (

I believe in God’s promises and I believe that God speaks to us. If you asked the question and got that back, I believe it IS His answer. Never stop praying and never stop believing. Despite what our spouses are saying and doing, God is working to restore AT THIS MOMENT. We don’t know the appointed time, but He does! I don’t know what my spouse is going to do next, but I KNOW that God is working! Please, don’t give up or give in to what other people (the naysayers) are telling you. Read the Stander’s Affirmation if you haven’t and again if you have. Dolly Parton said in her song Try to not live your life in shackles when faith can be the key. I recommend you listen to that song and get some encouragement.

I guess that’s what I’m struggling with. Believing God is speaking to me & that He even would. I don’t know why…that’s why I second guess it & think it’s a coincidence. Because I think -would God really reveal that or do that? Would He really tell me?

Could He just show me though because it’s what He wants. Not necessarily what He will do, but He could be showing me it’s what He wants too, but my husband has to respond to Him & want it to…? That’s what I struggle with. I just have so many questions & I don’t understand it all. Does that even make sense? God showing me because He is showing me – yes Makenzie. I want to do this for you. I’m trying…

A couple of things come to mind as I read your response. The first is a verse, Isaiah 46:10, “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'” You said that you think that maybe God is telling you that this is what He wants. This verse reminds us that what He wants is what He will do. Another thing that comes to mind is John 10:22-30. The Jews were asking Jesus if he was the Messiah. Jesus says that he has already told them and showed them but still they ask and do not believe.

You have got to get over this unbelief and trust in the Lord. I understand that you want to know without a doubt that God is saying this or that or that this or that is a promise. I cant encourage enough to go into His Word and read. If you want to know God and his nature, this is the only way. Another verse that comes to mind is Roman’s 10:17, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Also, Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” So, get faith from the Word, and be confident in what you cannot see. Believe. Hope. Pray. God’s word does not return void, Isaiah 55:11, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Also, you must believe that what you ask for will be given to you, Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Why am I throwing verses at you? Because, all the answers that you seek are in His Word. Rest assured. Do not worry, Matthew 6:25-34 (look it up) and 1 Peter 5-7: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

What is God telling you? Amazingly, what He is telling ALL of us. Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Go seek!

Wow I just read that verse the other day! Isaiah 46:10 was that one of the verses somewhere in a devotion? I swear I just read that. Another confirmation?

I have gone to Him in prayer & each time I ask for Him to confirm, I feel like He does…but then I wonder if it’s a coincidence. Like could it be a coincidence I watched a married restored testimony called – a promise is a promise & the next day the devotional we had on here was called -a promise is a promise. Like could that just be a coincidence? It isn’t scripture so it’s not Gods word. & when I have had several confirmation like I mean repetitiveness with the scriptures over & over again for example – 5 different sources or more telling me the same verse – Joel 2:25 & when I say that He gave me that scripture to say He will restore my marriage. Since it’s been so many times over & over & someone said that isn’t a promise to restore your marriage, it’s to restore you. So I guess I just wonder if I’m misinterpreting Gods word because it’s what I want… but I mean some things I don’t know how else I could interpret it.

& that’s another one! Since day 1 Hebrews 11:1 has been the verse He’s used for me. This is another what has to be a God thing & not coincidence I will share.
When my husband first left I talked to my old mentor on the phone & she told me I needed to have Hebrews 11:1 faith for God to restore my marriage. She told me to look it up in the amplified & write it out & believe. That night I went to a small group. I didn’t want to go I didn’t know what it was about. I just knew it was called “wise wives” I didn’t want to go though because my husband had just left me & I didn’t want to be around a bunch of happy wives. I felt to go in faith. I did. I get there & it’s the last night of the group. I felt awkward for showing up new & on the last night. Then it was when I realized the book they were reading… the back of it said – you’re hurting, lonely, separated & heading for a divorce. The wise wives blueprint will give you biblical strategies to save your marriage even if your husband is unwilling to change. The lady who wrote it her husband left her they almost divorced, but God restored their marriage. They were reading & going over the last page in the book. & there was – Hebrews 11:1 on the last page. The same verse my mentor just told me. I knew all that couldn’t be a coincidence. I had no idea where I was going to what the group was about & then someone said you came tonight because you were supposed to get this book & know God will do the same thing for you.

I just feel like there has been too many things to be a coincidence that all revolve around restoration.

I know I do. I ask God to help me with my unbelief. Help me to trust Him to believe Him. To know He is speaking to me. That it’s not coincidences. That He wouldn’t mislead me or get my hopes up.

Well like someone told me… there is no verse that spells out I will restore your marriage. So the answers in His word, but not that I guess. Isaiah 55:11 is another one that I’ve seen a lot. I just want to know it is His word & what He is speaking. I mean if I asked God if you’re restoring my marriage when I was reading one of Charlyne devotionals where she asked God the same thing – if she wasn’t accepting the divorce. & then God showed her Luke 1:45 – blessed is she who believed the lord would fulfill His promises to her. So I asked God if you are show me this verse & then within a week I think I saw the verse 6 times… so I asked & it followed so I would think that was Him answering. I just don’t know why I question & second guess & think oh that was a coincidence… & if it’s not then it has to be Him.
So I am seeking Him. I think it’s why He is answering me & speaking so much? I just don’t know why I don’t take Him at His word but think maybe it’s just coincidence all of this or I’m misinterpreting…

I also want to add & ask do you think God would tell you something just to have you be obedient? Because it is what He wants you to do? Like telling me & showing me everything He is so I will be obedient? Not necessarily about the outcome but about obedience?

I don’t know I guess I think I’m just kind of in disbelief that God would reveal this to me. Or if He really did? Would He when I asked Him? Could any of it be a coincidence? I don’t know why that’s where my mind goes…

do you think it could be a coincidence that I watched a video called — A promise is a promise & it was about Gods word is His word. He wouldn’t promise something & not come through. He’s no man to lie… then I asked Him if this was a promise from Him? & the next day my devotional was called – a promise is a promise. A promise of marriage restoration.

Like could that by any means be a coincidence??

Today I felt God telling me to get up and clean my house to get it ready. I wanted to take a nap but instead, I got to work. When I was finished, my husband called me out of the blue on his way to work! Now, I’m not saying that was a reward but I know I was jumping for joy as soon as I got off the phone and praising the Lord! My house is clean and ready for him to walk through the (open) door at any moment.

Wow that is amazing!!! Praise God! How did you feel God telling you that? See I want Him to speak to me that way. I just see Him speaking through His word over & over & over again.

What’s crazy is my husband came by the house tonight but I wasn’t home. I have scriptures & papers & my standers affirmation & prayers from here printed out & all over my house & on the counter the fridge etc. the power of a praying wife book on my nightstand. He made it very obvious he came by. He looked through all my papers & then he was like snooping around. He found his birthday present I got him from May! I haven’t been able to give him because I haven’t seen him… he put it on my bed with a note that said – thank you but STOP. You can’t buy me

I did not know what to make of this. I didn’t reach out. I was thinking why would he think I’m trying to buy him? & I just feel confused. He didn’t accept it though is what he was showing me…
: ( so I don’t know what this was all about. His coming by the house & doing that. He doesn’t even have any of his stuff here. I’m pretty confused.

I wish my house would’ve been clean when he came by. I wish God would’ve told me.

Omg Alicia! Did you catch it?? You shared last night Isaiah 46:10 & it’s literally in this link you shared about “coincidence” woah.

In Isaiah 46:9–11, God states unequivocally that He is in charge of everything: “I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.”

That’s 3 times now I’ve seen this.
