Each week we share guest devotionals. The views expressed below are those of the writer and may not reflect the views of Rejoice Marriage Ministries or the Steinkamps.
Has the Lord placed a devotional on your heart that you would like to share with other standers?
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)
Maybe you are in a place in your life now or in your past where you were at a loss for what to say, pray or do. When the circumstances you were facing seemed so gigantic and hopeless that all you could do is cry and say, “Jesus.”
I’ve been there many times in my life! Just to name a few: When my son fell off the hood of a car and His brain was bleeding and swelling, when my daughter was bit by a poisonous spider and had an allergic reaction to the drug the hospital administered, when my husband had a near fatal heart attack. I could go on and on with devastating challenges, with financial needs, divorce and family issues, but all I will tell you is Jesus came through for me and my family in every situation!
Maybe the answer and victory didn’t come in my time or the way I expected, but in calling on the name of Jesus I saw His hand at work.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
A few months ago the Holy Spirit gave me a poem I would like to share to keep reminding us to say the name.
Just say the name and devils flee
Just say the name and eyes will see
Just say the name and hearts will heal
Just say the name and death is killed
Just say the name and peace will reign
Just say the name that breaks every chain
Just say the name that won the fight
And say the name that brings new life!
If the world and Satan, the god of this world, can silence THAT NAME, no power manifests. Only Jesus saves, heals, delivers and sets free. He is the way, the truth and the life. He died for all, so all could live. Be urgent and diligent to say THE NAME.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8b (NKJV)
Jesus is the victor over all the powers and kingdom of darkness. He commands their obedience and destroys their works and lies. Jesus has given all His authority to us, His followers.
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross. Colossians 2:15 (AMP)
So let’s continue to have faith in the power of His name. Speak it confidently, boldly and with faith. We have the mind of Christ, which is of faith. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith and our faith works by love, which conquers all.
Where do you need a miracle in your life right now? In your marriage, with your prodigal, with your children, with your health or your finances? Just say the name and know that He hears and will answer.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that you would bring every care, need, desire, hurt, pain, discouragement, despair and urgent circumstance boldly before His throne of Grace today. Then only believe and you will see the glory of Christ.
My son, daughter and husband all fully recovered from their desperate situations. My husband has been home for many years. The Lord has always made a way where there seemed to be no way by His miracle working power. I thank my Lord Jesus every day for His life, His love, His name and His blood. Hallelujah Jesus!
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]” John 16:33 (AMP)

Thank you DeAnn for the encouragement. Praise the Lord for your marriage restoration! Father in the name of Jesus we ask You to reverse divorces and all the works of the enemy in our marriages and bring healing and restoration. May the relationship of our spouses and the Other Person built by the enemy be destroyed ( Psalm 127:1)We thank You that You make all grace abound to us, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, we may abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Thank you, DeAnn. I knew today’s devotional was written by you before I got to the end of it. I didn’t know about the desperate situations your husband, daughter and son faced, but I felt a special connection to the stander who wrote this devotional. You and I have called on the name Jesus many times as we prayed together on the phone. He is faithful and he does answer prayer. God bless you and your family.
Thank you DeAnn for sharing your heart and your wisdom. I have had the privilege of being prayed over by you and I learn something every time we speak. I love this poem ! May all standers call out the name of Jesus! There is power in the Name!
This is a devotional that is worth saving and referring back to on the power and majesty of Jesus’s strong name. Thank you, DeAnn for today’s devotional. God bless you.
Thank you DeAnn….I needed to hear this.
