Do You Feel Like God Has Forgotten You?


Do you feel like God has forgotten that you exist? Everyone experiences feelings of doubt or uncertainty at some point in their life. It is important to combat feelings of unbelief with the truth. God has not abandoned you! He loves you and cares deeply for you. Check out this episode and be encouraged.

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a little oil.”  2 Kings 4:1-2 

Do you need divine intervention from the Lord today? If Jesus stood before you and asked, “How can I help you?” What would your answer be? Your Lord is right beside you, waiting for you to ask Him to help you through your fears, anxieties of the unknown, marriage problems, or financial struggles.

Are you facing problems with your children? Are they having trouble in school, or are they disobedient and rebellious? Tell your Heavenly Father all your circumstances, and He will know the best solution for you and your family.

We hear from people every day who are making major life decisions. Your Lord is standing beside you, waiting for you to ask Him for His help.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21 

“‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”  Jeremiah 33:3 

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

Let me finish the story about the widow and her two boys. As I read this story, I could not help but imagine that in this day and age, it would be a story of a divorced man/woman with children who had been rejected, abandoned, and deserted by their spouse for someone else. They are now responsible for managing all the home affairs, as well as working a full-time job while being both Mom and Dad to their children. They come home tired and weary, only to find the mailbox overflowing with past-due bills. After the children are in bed, they open the mail at the dining room table with tears running down their cheeks. Their thoughts ring so loudly, “I can’t do this. I don’t know how to pay these bills!”

Then the Holy Spirit speaks to their heart, “How can I help you?” 

“…How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a little oil.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”  2 Kings 4:2-7 

Believe that your mighty awesome God will provide for you if you seek Him. Your problems may seem hopeless, but remember who is on your side.

In the story of the widow and Elisha, she had to decide. Was she going to obey Elisha, telling her to do such a foolish thing? She knew how much oil she had. But Elisha was a man of God, a prophet, and she knew of His mighty power.

Do you believe in the Lord’s mighty power? Never stop praying for your spouse and all spouses who are blinded and deceived by the enemy. Pray for your marriage to be touched by our mighty God. May you never doubt God’s power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

“How can I help you?” Right now, may you bow down on your knees in awe of whom you serve, and tell your Lord what your needs are right now. Then expect your Lord to help you supernaturally in ways you could never imagine. Believe that your Lord will also go after your spouse who is entangled in sin and will set them free by His mighty power. How can your Lord help you? Talk to Him.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.  Ephesians 3:20
