Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:10-11
Can you visualize the Lord Jesus talking to your beloved husband or wife today and telling them to go and leave their life of sin? What a powerful scripture. This week we have been talking a lot about sin in our daily devotionals. My prayer is that we will understand the stronghold the enemy will try to keep us in through sin.
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. John 8:3-8
Jesus looked upon this woman in adultery differently than you may be thinking of some other person in your life right now. We can learn from this scripture. Jesus Christ came to this earth not to condemn the world but to save all sinners.
You must believe in the power of Jesus’ Name and the power of the Blood of your Lord Jesus.
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:9-11
Is that not your prayer for your spouse?
“_____, go now and leave your life of sin. Jesus loves you. I love you. Jesus will forgive you and I have forgiven you. We are waiting for you to come home now. The Lord will rebuild our marriage on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.”
Have you prayed prayers like this before? Don’t stop! Pray this scripture for your spouse this weekend. Keep praying it over and over again, thanking your Heavenly Father, your Lord, and the Holy Spirit that they are moving, touching, and delivering your spouse from the life of sin that they are living in now. Stop doubting but believe in the mighty power of your Lord God forever!
