Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Never, Never, Never Give Up!

The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:25-26

Do you feel like your circumstances are overwhelming you? Are you discouraged? May I suggest you spend time in worship to the Lord today? Get your Bible and start reading the Psalms out loud. Yes, read the Psalms until the Holy Spirit starts touching and healing your wounded, rejected, and abandoned heart. Never, never stop believing in what your Lord can do for you!

“The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit – a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.” Isaiah 54:6-7

“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart: Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults.” Isaiah 51:7

When I was going through my marriage problems, I was often tempted to look at my circumstances. Once the Lord got hold of my life, I learned to truly depend on the Lord for His timing in every situation. Your Lord God understands everything you are going through at this challenging time in your life. He can be trusted.

I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” Lamentations 3:55-57

My prayer was for Bob to repent and turn back to the Lord. Is that your prayer for your spouse? Lean on the Lord for His answers to the questions about your spouse’s spiritual life. He will fight your battles for you. Turn to your Lord for His guidance and direction and for Him to be your Advocate and Defender.

Do you feel like you are in the middle of the Book of Job? I learned that if I continued to have bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness in my heart, I was only hurting and destroying myself and the ones around me. Let your Lord God be the One you turn to for help.

You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life. Lord, you have seen the wrong done to me. Uphold my cause! You have seen the depth of their vengeance, all their plots against me. Lord, you have heard their insults, all their plots against me-what my enemies whisper and mutter against me all day long. Lamentations 3:58-62

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Let me share an illustration that I could use every day. Winston Churchill showed such perseverance during World War II. After the war, Oxford University invited Mr. Churchill to give a commencement address. He stood up, gazed intensely at his audience, and began; “I have only three truths to impart to you today on the subject of that virtue which makes a man. Let me begin by saying: Never give up. Let me continue by saying: Never, never give up! And in conclusion, I say to you: Never, never, never give up!” Then he sat down.

That is such a powerful statement and truth for you as a person standing for marriage restoration. My prayer for you today; that you will never, never, never give up on your spouse or your Lord God.

Yes, the world and many well-meaning loved ones may say, “Get on with your life. What are you waiting for? You are too young. The Lord has someone else that will be better for you.” You could remind them that you are getting on with your life by praying for your Lord God to touch and transform your spouse, so they become a new creature in Christ. May you show them your patience and perseverance in waiting for the Lord’s perfect time in restoring your marriage. May you never give up on God or your spouse.

Let the Lord turn your circumstances around as He has done throughout the Bible. Ask the Lord to give you the perseverance, courage, and faith that you need. Now start reading the Psalms today. Start with four of my favorites: Psalm 34, Psalm 37, Psalm 51, and Psalm 91, as they will strengthen your faith in your mighty awesome God.

I often wonder where I would be today if I had given up on Bob and my marriage. I thank the Lord for the eternal results and blessings He has given our family because I chose to follow the Lord.

Never, never, never give up.

I really needed to hear this as I have been feeling like I am right in the middle of Job. Thank you! Father thank You that the relationship of our spouses with the Other Person is
in vain as it’s not built by You and will not stand( Psalm 127:1).Father we praise You that all that the enemy builds, You will tear it down and restore our marriages. We will see Your goodness in the land of the living. Thank You Jesus!( Malachi 1:4-5)

Charlyne, Thank you for Encouragement and Exhortation of Perseverance. I cannot be or do this in my own strength, I need continual closeness with our Lord, intently focused in prayer, listening and being assured of His Presence and Leading.
So Thankful for Holy Spirit, and Scriptures full of His Life and Hope!

I also often wonder where I would be today if you had given up on Bob and your marriage! What the enemy tried to destroy you with God turned it around for the good. The saving of many lives! Genesis 50:20
