Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Rise up and Pray for Your Family

“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”  Proverbs 31:29

Happy Mother’s Day! I know that today may be difficult. You may long to be called mom and feel like you are missing out on children by praying for your prodigal. Others may dread today because your children will not be with you this year. Every person has a mother or a mother figure in their lives. Today can be a special day regardless of your situation.

Men, I don’t want to exclude you on this special day. Just as I will encourage the women to be prayer warriors for their families, you, as the spiritual leaders, can do the same thing. What a wonderful day to reach out to your mother-in-law and wife to tell them that despite what has happened in your marriage, you love and honor them on this special day.

The enemy may attack your marriage, but your Lord God can heal and restore your family. Today is the perfect day to become a prayer warrior for your family. Standing up for your family can make a tremendous difference. Praying for marriage restoration is one example of standing up for your family.

The Lord showed me a special scripture when I was standing for my marriage from Genesis 50:20:

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.”

Will you start praying against divorce attacking families every day? Will you pray that upcoming court hearings for divorce will be canceled? (Except for non-covenant marriages!) Will you pray that thousands of blinded, deceived prodigals,  and rebellious children of all ages will come to their senses today by confessing their sins, repenting, and asking Jesus Christ to become Lord of their lives?

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.  3 John 1:4

Throughout the Bible, women are known for what they have accomplished through prayer and strength from their Heavenly Father. Do you remember Samuel’s mother praying for a baby in 1 Samuel, Chapter One? Hannah sounds like so many standers who have wept, prayed, pleaded, and begged for the Lord to answer their prayers. Hannah was persistent in her prayers.

May you learn from her tenacity. Hannah was also faithful to her promise when she told God that she would give the baby back to the Lord throughout his life. May you learn from Hannah, who truly believed in the power of prayer.

In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.” “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.  Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.” Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.” She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast. Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”  1 Samuel 1:10-20

You can pray and make a difference in your family. Talk to them, listen to them, and then pray for all areas of their lives. Put the Armor of God on them every day. What an honor and privilege each mother and grandmother have in teaching and impacting their children’s lives. May you have a blessed day, and Happy Mother’s Day! God loves you!

God bless,
