Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying. Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. Psalm 94:18-19
“My wife told me one day that she was leaving me. I was devastated, to say the least. The first week, I could only think about the ‘why me’ and ‘I have to find a way to get her to come home.’ I continued to go to church, even though it was by myself. I was going through the motions, always praying ‘God, I want my family home now.’ As the days went by, and I continued to go through the motions, I realized that was all I was really doing. I started reading more devotionals, more church-based material. I made sure that I wouldn’t say ‘If she comes back,’ but instead started speaking it into existence, ‘God is going to bring her home in His time.’ I started praying more for comfort and peace for both of us, for understanding, for patience. God led me on the right path and heard my prayers. Last night my wife asked me if I’d like to go on a date, and today said that she wants to come home and work on us and God. Keep the faith. Believe.” (Oklahoma) Are you really ready for your spouse to come home? Even suddenly as many do! Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40
“I spent our long weekend at my beloved’s house. We had loving couple time, did chores and played with our dog and cat. While out in his front yard gardening, his neighbor stopped by and said, ‘I don’t know your woman.’ He introduced me and said, ‘She’s not my woman.’ I replied, ‘Every time someone asks me out, I thank them and say I’m with someone.’ My Beloved said, ‘she is my woman.’ We text every day and a few days ago he brought me leek and onion seedlings he grew for my garden. My prayers are that my next visit next month go just as well and that he will continue to see me as his loving and loved partner.” (Canada)
“My husband and I are reconciled after many, many years of divorce. Praise God. We have been remarried for a few years. I am thankful for the prayers of this great ministry. I ran into roadblocks while standing and temptation to rebound and give up! But I praise God for His keeping power!” (North Carolina)
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3
“I’m so thankful that God did not give up on me. I remember those words, yes, the second time I was about to sign the divorce papers. I was hearing to fight/stand is expensive. If he’s not going to budge, I might as well sign. Then I heard, ‘I didn’t give up on you, so don’t give up on him.’ In the years that we’ve been separated and divorced; I have seen too many miracles to count. No matter what the other person says/does or doesn’t say/do, that is not our determining factor that God is moving, or He isn’t. I have seen miraculous love come over me and watched all the enemy’s tactics melt. I love my spouse more every day. I know it’s because I pray for him, and God’s love grows inside of me deeper and wider so that joy floods my soul. Childlike faith is believing God will do what He says He will do. I have seen miracles in myself, my spouse, our daughter, and the OW. God told me that love pushes past all the walls the enemy tries to put up. Love destroys walls and rebuilds the broken ones.” (Oklahoma)
“In that day I will restore David’s fallen shelter— I will repair its broken walls and restore its ruins— and will rebuild it as it used to be.” Amos 9:11
“I was so blessed by the devotional by Bob on June 7th. I had not spoken to my husband in a while. After reading the devotional where Bob said we, the stander, can call the prodigal if the Holy Spirit allows you to do it and if it’s not for manipulative gain, I decided to call my husband. He was so happy to hear my voice. I was so surprised to hear him saying how much he misses me, and he has never stopped loving me. God is faithful. I have been questioning God about my stand, but I got hope yesterday when I called my husband. To God be all the glory!” (Jamaica)
“I’ve been following your podcasts, praying for my husband even though my sulking and obsession to catch him lying drove him away. I read the Bible verses you send out each month. I am focusing on Christ, admitting MY sins, and getting right with my Heavenly Husband. After a few visits, I was able to just be present in the moment with him. We had communication and peace. He had a health scare. I didn’t even question being with him. He needed to rest. He asked if he could stay the night. That was a few weeks ago. He has been going to church with me. He said it’s over with her. So, I’m trusting God. I’m not desperate for him to change. Now I can pray for his salvation.” (Mexico)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
