The Journey from Prodigal to Stander

Can you imagine your prodigal being transformed and being the one who wants to pray and stand for marriage restoration? It is not uncommon.

In this episode, DeAnn shares her journey from being a prodigal to becoming the one standing for her marriage. At one time, she wanted to end her marriage. When God showed her His will for marriage, her husband had already moved on. DeAnn’s testimony will show you that nothing is impossible with God!

Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying. Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.  Psalm 33:20-22

“My hubby had packed his things and had the other woman pick him up and take him to the far land. We had been together for many years with children. I came home from working to find him and my kids gone. My world crashed and I was so confused. I found this ministry online. I feel God led me to it. I began to go to church, pray and fast. Several months later my hubby called for me to pick him up from her house and we were together again for many years until he took his last breath in the local hospital while I was holding his hand. God gave us several more good years together. They weren’t perfect, but God returned my spouse, and just a few days before he passed, he gave his heart to God.”  (Kentucky)

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”  Luke 15:4-7

“God is moving! Slowly but surely. My husband and I will be having our first marriage counseling session. Also, he is more open to us moving back in together. I have my fears and doubts, but I’m learning to trust God in this process.”  (Malaysia)

“I received a sign today, and I just had to share it. I was driving and listening to a RMM Podcast. I’ve been binge listening to the podcasts from newest to oldest since I started standing. It is a teaching by Charlyne. Just as she started to talk about something Bob had done or said, a sticker in the back window of the car I was slowly passing on the freeway caught my eye. As I passed the car, I was able to see the sticker said, ‘What would Bob do?’! I am so curious if any of your other standers have seen this sticker or if the sticker comes from RMM.”  (Oregon)

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11. I have been standing for my marriage for many years. Though my suddenly has yet to happen, the Lord is showing me that He is always there for me in His own way. Recently I found a big lump in my breast. I prayed over it daily as I waited for my medical appointment. Ultrasound showed that it was a large lump. When I returned for a follow up three weeks later, I was told that it had shrunk considerably and that it was benign. No follow ups were needed. PTL! The Lord has also provided for all my needs. I know He has heard my prayers for my marriage to be restored. He will restore it in His perfect timing. All I need to do is to be still. Thank You lord for providing all my needs and always being there for me. I will continue to stand and wait for my suddenly.”  (Singapore)

“I have been asking the Lord to turn my husband’s heart back to Him. During a disagreement yesterday he admitted his actions and that he was wrong. Before, he said he didn’t care that he was wrong. The Lord is working on him. Amen!”  (Georgia)

“Its early morning, our recliners are side by side, this is where we have our coffee. I glance across the little gap between us and there is my husband, miracle number one. The Bible is on his lap, miracle number 2. He’s quietly saying his prayers for today, miracle number three. This little scene looked just as impossible as any other not long ago but here we are. DO NOT believe the lies that your marriage is unfixable, or you’ll miss God’s willing miracles. I praise the Lord for mine, and I praise Him for yours too.”  (Australia)

“I’m amazed at how God has led and provided for us over the years. He led me to work that I love that honors Him. I admit I’ve gotten comfortable. Recently, I’ve felt pulled to step out of my comfort zone toward a new path. I’ve been dealing with fears that I’m not adequate, I’m too old, etc. I’ve prayed that God would make it clear to me that this is the direction to go. He reminded me that I don’t have to be enough — He already is. He will handle the details and make the way. I just need to step out in faith.”  (North Carolina)

“I was just reminded by another stander who wrote a long overdue testimony that I also need to give my never submitted testimony. Many years ago, I found Rejoice Ministries and stood for my marriage then. God did the impossible and restored our covenant with Him. He blessed us abundantly (we now have four beautiful children). After repentance, God’s grace, and unconditional love, we made it. We were even ministering to other families in need. God! I have seen them restored! Evil crept into our marriage a few months ago. The Lord told me this time to release my husband to Him (and my older boys). Here I am standing again in the gap. God is bigger! He will do it again!”  (Pennsylvania)

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  Deuteronomy 31:8

God bless,

Charlyne

Hallelujah! Really encouraged by the amazing testimonies! So great to see God move! Praying in agreement for everyone’s suddenlies!

One thing remains
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing remains, yes, one thing remains

It never gives up
It never runs out on me
