Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying.
Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:23-26
“My husband told me he had no hope for our marriage on our anniversary get-away several years ago. Affairs and utter destruction followed. Early in the chaos, the Lord gave me a promise. Isaiah 57:18. ‘I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners.’ This promise, paired with prophetic words and pictures, were fresh Rhema Word that became hope to stand. A couple of years ago, he began healing and that process has been bittersweet, as it’s nothing like the instant healing I imagined. BUT GOD. But God is faithful to His promises. He gave me a Word, asked me to stand, and gave me strength to take another step. He is faithfully working in my husband and the fruit of His healing took root, began to grow, and is now blossoming. We just celebrated our 19th anniversary. I recall telling the Lord, ‘If it takes a year to heal him and bring him home, I’ll wait.’ Several years later we’re still in process, but the foundation is solid. Keep standing! His promises are TRUE!” (Washington)
“God has done a work in me. I thought my husband was to blame for everything, but God has shown me where I fell short in my marriage. I can’t thank Him enough for it. I pray for God to take the scales from my husband’s eyes now and soften his heart back towards Him. Prayerfully, if he turns back to our Father, God will restore our marriage.” (Georgia)
“Life is hard, but God is faithful. He uses painful circumstances to sanctify us. My husband was unfaithful and left our home. Although we attempted to reconcile, we are currently in the process of getting divorced. My husband fell away from the faith, and every day I pray that he can be reconciled to the Lord. This time of separation has been very painful and lonely, but I can see that it is also God’s mercy for us. It has taken suffering of this magnitude to bring me to Jesus’ feet and to realize the necessity of having a deep and intimate relationship with Him. I praise Him for this trial because He is purifying me and strengthening me. I believe that He had to break me completely, so that he could remake me into a vessel that can better serve Him and bring Him glory. In faith, I proclaim that He is doing the same thing in my husband’s life. He is crafting two new wine skins, and when His work in us is complete, He will pour out His new wine onto our marriage and family. Amen!” (California)
“I have been standing for my marriage for many years My husband has been moved out most of that time. There have been several OW’s throughout the years and one currently. The place he has been living, the landlord gave him a notice to move and he has said one of his options is to move back home. But he is unsure and told me recently that he likes the OW and knows whatever decision he makes someone will be mad. Our daughter is getting married this year in December and he basically said he is making his decision by November. We see each other every day and we spend time together.” (Canada)
“My husband and I are such great friends and have so much love for each other. We also both have wounds and scars from relationships in the past that we have brought into our marriage and we are terrible spouses together. We have separated and are doing individual work. I pray for my marriage, my husband and myself to find peace and a road back.” (Viriginia)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
