Fight for Your Marriage

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Saturday Testimonies

Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying.

Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  Colossians 3:12-15

“My wife and I are currently separated again. It has been a few months. I have been standing from day one and have noticed our communication has really improved over the last few weeks. This is our second separation, when we were separated for several months. I stood for our marriage back then and God restored our marriage. I continue to pray for the restoration of our marriage, protection for our children, and my wife’s salvation.”  (Australia)

“We married many years ago but were divorced after a few years (no kids). We saw each other here and there over the many years…no real reconnection. Each of us married and divorced other people and also had children with those spouses. I ALWAYS truly believed we would reconcile one day as a restored couple. I recently called him to wish him a happy 70th birthday, not knowing anything about his marital status, desire to hear from me, etc. We talked for three hours and have been together every day since that happy birthday phone call. Miracles happen! Praise God!”  (Maryland)

“My husband used to come by quite often to visit, but that stopped. After many months, he came by. He had a ring on his finger, and when I inquired about it, he kept telling me he wasn’t married. (We are not divorced.) He said that he wasn’t divorcing me because it was too much trouble and he was not going to get married again. This week, I was feeling down and asked God to give me hope for restoration. After a few days of prayer, my husband texted me and told me that he is depressed about some things. I offered to help and he told me thank you and that he loved me.”  (California)

“After several years of silence my wife emailed me requesting a meeting and conversation. I stopped emailing her back a few years ago. Then this summer I sent her an email not expecting a reply. I just revealed in my email to her about all the hard work I was doing to be a better man of God. She replied to that email a few weeks after I sent it. She said, ‘I hear something different about you that I never heard before, a new truth and honesty.’ She was impressed and curious about the new me. Her email to me went into great detail about her journey. She asked if I would consider meeting and having a conversation. Our meeting is scheduled soon.”  (New York)

“My husband left after many years of marriage and told me he no longer loved me and intended to divorce me. I was devastated, but God asked me to stop trying to control the outcome and trust Him. During several months of separation, He changed me from the inside out. I prayed that God would draw my husband home, give him wisdom to recognize the pull, courage to act on it, remove ungodly influences, and send someone willing to speak truth to him. I recently learned that while I was praying, my husband was praying too—for peace and direction. God did send someone who challenged him to give our marriage another chance. After weeks of building courage, my husband asked, ‘Do you want to try to figure this out?’ Today we say ‘I love you’ again, sleep beside each other, and are preparing to move our family back under one roof. I couldn’t see what God was doing in the waiting, but I kept praying. Now I know I wasn’t the only one praying.”  (Texas)

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  James 5:15-16

Praise God for these powerful testimonies. You can truly see the hand of God in each of them. As I read each, more and more I kept thinking ‘this can only be God’. He speaks and nudges prodigals in ways that no-one else can. He softens their hearts in ways non one else can. He brings them home, suddenly, unexpectedly, in ways that no one else can. I’ve learnt a lesson from reading them now and been reminded that my human, fleshly ways do not win. It’s Jehovah who has the final say and his ways are the best. Thank you to these standers for sharing your stories today. I pray someone is encouraged. Thank you RMM for all the work you do. Praise God, Amen 🙏🏾
