Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying.
Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:4-5
“I have been separated from my wife for several months. She has asked for a divorce. The last several years have been rough for the both of us. We lost our connection. I isolated more and more with the new roles I had to assume. I played a big factor in why she felt unloved. That weekend when she asked for the divorce, I went to church for the first time in years and I felt God catch my heart from free fall. He rescued me. I believe in standing on His promises for restoration for my marriage.” (Texas)
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24
“I was blindsided by my husband’s leaving. He abandoned me and his special needs step son, who loves him dearly. I’ve been standing, fasting, praying, and declaring scriptures over this situation. We entered this marriage saved, dedicated, and serving Jesus in church. We both made mistakes in the past. However, we stood before our family and church declaring that we would never divorce, and truly understood that marriage is forever no matter what happened. I have not signed the divorce papers or appeared in court.” (Ohio)
“My husband, whom we’ve been praying for, for many years, is under so much conviction! The Holy Spirit is visibly at work. I’m continuing to stand and fight in the spiritual realm for him. I was once reminded, ‘If you take down the mailbox by giving up on a prodigal spouse, where will God deliver your returned prodigal?’ The mailbox is up, the light is on, and the welcome mat rolled out! Trusting, standing, grateful!” (Florida)
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
“I joined this ministry many years ago, constantly praying for my prodigal. I stayed single mom with a 10-month-old and pregnant with my second child. To God’s glory, I am here now telling you that God’s plans are not ours. Both my daughters, babies back then and now young adults, are serving the Lord with their hearts. One of them travels as a missionary sharing and spreading the love of God. My marriage was not restored but my life was, and my kids were raised in His path. God healed my heart and my daughters’ hearts. We forgave him. We are happy with God’s love! God heals and restores lives!” (California)
“I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the prayers. I have had a few phone calls over the years and unfortunately, the calls came when I was knee deep in work and unable to answer. Those messages of prayer over the voicemail have meant a lot over the past few years and I’m truly grateful. I felt the presence of the Lord with me today and, after receiving that call, it gave me a real sense of peace. Even though my situation is still ongoing, I know that God is working behind the scenes. Thank you again so much. God bless.” (Washington)
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
