Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying.
Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. Psalm 126:5-6
“God is good! I was standing for my marriage for several years. But God did the impossible and restored my marriage. When I started the process, I was devastated. My husband moved out of our house and moved in with the other woman. He changed his number so there was no contact. Months passed and I received divorce papers. I didn’t open the packet. I was on the way to my prayer group. I took the packet, didn’t say anything about it, just had them pray over it and believing for a miracle. After some time, the other woman reached out to me. She asked me to forgive her. From some time of no contact with my husband and some more time of talking over the phone and going on dates, and then to him starting to spend the night. Eventually he moved back home. It was a hard process but it helped me get closer to God. I give God all the praise and the glory! He did it for me. He will do it for you.” (Texas)
“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17
“Late last year, shortly after our youngest daughter’s first birthday, my husband came to me and said ‘I want a divorce. I don’t love you and I’m not attracted to you anymore. I’m meant to live as a gay man.’ This was a shock as we are both Christians and have two children under two. He went and met up with a man that he had been pursuing. I began to seek God and pray night and day. I followed the ‘Big Three’ of Matthew 6 – Giving, Praying, and Fasting. Fast forward to New Year’s Day. My husband, who I and many others have been praying nonstop for, came out of the bathroom after his shower and looked shocked. He said ‘God just told me I was supposed to go with (my pastor) on his mission trip. I was told five times clear as day during my shower.’ The same shower I use as my war room. I told him things need to change now and that all starts with prayer. He hasn’t said the sinner’s prayer yet but I’m testifying in faith, believing that he will very soon. Hallelujah, glory to God!” (Ohio)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16
“My prodigal is back, glory to God. We were separated for many years, but we are now back together. We are trusting God to complete the good work He has started in us.” (South Africa)
“My journey began many years ago. Because of my walk with Jesus, and praying for my spouse, he came home, then left again. (The main thing is his salvation). After many years of being separated from my spouse, he finally filed for divorce. Throughout this journey, I have had several signs from Jesus (Holy Spirit) telling me to continue praying and believing for his return. Months before Christmas, I had a vision in the spirit of something coming in the mail. We received a beautiful Christmas card in the mail, with a gift for his children, along with a gift for me as well, a real blessing. The card was simple and yet profound. There is so much more to this story. I know God is not done with my story. God is so good!” (Colorado)
“I recently wrote into your ministry prayer requests. Less than a week later I heard from my husband after absolutely no contact in several years! Glory to God! I’ve been so encouraged after such a long battle to keep standing for total restoration! I’m so thankful for your ministry!” (Tennessee)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
