Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying. Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
“I have been standing for my marriage for a few years and am encouraged by the devotionals and testimonies on RMM. It has not been easy; every birthday, holiday, or special occasion that we are missing out on as a family breaks my heart. I do not have communication with my husband and he is not supporting us. But I hold on to what God is planting in my heart, the promise of a complete family. I read the Word of God and find strength in it. God has provided us with everything we need and more. Then my suddenly came! I was in awe that everything that I’ve read in this ministry is true; that there is hope and that God does restore. We were able to celebrate Christmas and New Year together as a family. My husband shared everything that happened to him and I realized how God moved on the other side of the mountains. He who promised is faithful.” (Philippines) Praise the Lord! God’s timing is perfect! Trust the Lord and live a Christ-like life daily, reading the Bible and going to church regularly. You will be blessed. – Charlyne
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
“I made a conscious decision to stand for my marriage 100 percent no matter what things looked like or no matter the words coming out of my spouse’s mouth. I am choosing to trust God. During prayer, I told God that I no longer wanted to have the type of friendship that I was having with a male friend. It was not an intimate friendship, but it was not godly because I am married although separated. And this time God knew I was serious in my stand where I thought I was all along. The next morning, I got a text from my male friend saying hello and that he had been praying for me and my family. I could do nothing but cry because I woke that morning having the conversation with God again. The short of it: He said that he can see that I really want my husband back in my life and even though he has feelings for me he doesn’t want to stand in the way of (God). I cried even harder. Thank you, God, for this confirmation.” (North Carolina)
“My husband and I almost have no communication now and I haven’t seen him in a few months. But due to a recent tragedy in the family of our mutual friends, he decided to visit. I rejoiced at that, but also felt uneasy that the conversation about divorce would start again. By God’s grace our time together turned out to be a true blessing! We had lunch, chatting and sharing life stories for the past months and even joked like very good friends would. We got to give each other a hug. Having such a wonderful time together is a miracle for me, because the weariness of standing and my recent struggle to find affection for my husband are now being replaced with such love and tenderness. Even more so, God is placing forgiveness into my heart for him. I’m in awe of what the Lord is capable of when we surrender our hearts and obey. The joy is hard to put into words! Glory to Him!” (Colorado)
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. Philippian 4:4
“Luke 15:17, 20 (AMPC) – Then when he came to himself, …. So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [fervently]. I work in healthcare and I talk to hundreds of people a week. I want to share this encouragement. I have heard several spouses who were abandoned by their spouse, time and time again, say that the wayward spouse wanted to come back, but the abandoned spouse refused. I see a person who is bitter and remains tied to what their spouse has done (for years). Dear Standers, don’t allow the enemy to get a foothold of unforgiveness in your hearts! Luke 15:22, 24 (AMPC) – But the father said ….Because this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!” (Pennsylvania)
“I was informed that my mom was taken to the ER with breathing difficulties. We were there for many days until my mom went to rest with the Lord. One or two days before my mom’s passing, I was feeling sad, weak, and needed someone to hug me and give me the support I needed at that time of so much pain and suffering. I called to the Lord and asked Him to bring my husband so he could hug me, hold my hand and be there for me. I knew I was asking for something impossible since we have been divorced for many years with no contact and I was in another country. To my surprise, when I came home from the hospital after my mom went to be with the Lord, my husband was there with his mom and sister. They came to see my mother and found out that she was gone. The first thing he did was to HUG me for a long time. He took his role as husband, helped me to deal with all the arrangements and, at my request, held my hand while completing paperwork. Praise God. He listens and answers our prayers!” (Puerto Rico) Thank you so much for sharing your testimony during this difficult season. God does hear our every prayer. To God be the glory! – Charlyne
“During the first few months of my stand I was directed to the scripture Matthew 17:21 and I began to fast for my husband. I wanted a sign from God and asked Him to allow me to see a Covenant Transport truck when my husband was close to coming home. I wrote down all my prayer requests and was honestly sad since it’s been a few years and I’ve never seen one. Today I finally saw a Covenant Transport truck! My mind has been a battlefield full of negative thoughts because I’ve been too focused on what I’ve been seeing. I read something that stated faith takes action. I decided I was going to change and better myself. I surrendered everything to God and told Him I was happy with whatever He wanted for me. I’ve been focusing on the positives. I have felt so much better and whenever I get a negative thought, I rebuke it. I understand why the enemy is attacking me more. My suddenly is almost coming! Thank You Jesus!” (Massachusetts) Will you do a heart examination this weekend? I pray that you will surrender your heart and life to God’s will and way! It will transform your life completely! – Charlyne
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:20-21 (NKJV)
