Fight for Your Marriage

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Saturday Testimonies

Below are excerpts from a few of the testimonies we have received in the past week, each shared with the writer’s permission. These are not to tell you how to stand and what to do, but are given here to share how God moves when people are praying.

Do you have a testimony to share to encourage others?

“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?”  2 Samuel 22:31-32

“My husband and I celebrated a long-term anniversary just last year. Only nine days later, at his request, the divorce was final. After praying for months for this not to happen, I stopped. I was tired and ready to start a journey of singleness. Until early this year he texted me asking me to pray for him. This was followed by my mom saying to pray for him day and night. My commitment began after a friend told me to pray for him and for us. Every time I asked God ‘How much longer,’ or ‘Should I continue,’ signals of breakthrough would appear. After hearing Ms. Charlyne’s story, I am praying for restoration and healing. I believe God will.”  (Maryland)

“A couple of years ago, the enemy had darkened my husband’s thoughts and he divorced me. It was after several years of marriage – years with resentments, unforgiveness, and contempt. I’ve been standing ever since for my marriage, in prayer, and trying to change my life and live it for Christ. Sometime later, my husband came home. We lived together for a while, but the enemy darkened us again. We became comfortable again and I feel we have missed our chance for reconciliation. We are now separated again, because there were deep wounds that were never healed. I am continuing to stand for my marriage in prayer. If God brought him back once, He can do it again.”  (Oregon)

“I can confirm that God answers prayers. God helped my wife and me. She got new job and God protected me from shame in my job. We are very grateful for mercy.” (Finland)

“I’ve been standing for many, many years without any communication. During this stand, my granddaughter came to live with me. I have been so blessed to have her, and God has used her to teach me and help me change. I am a work in progress and though my stand has been long, and I have doubted, I wouldn’t have it any other way. To God be the glory! Nothing is impossible with God!”  (Massachusetts)

“Several years ago, my life shattered; less than a month ago it shattered again. My husband left me and our young daughter with the usual rhetoric of a traumatized man in the throes of midlife crisis. It was a devastating time as one would imagine – financially, emotionally, and spiritually. During this time, I discovered Rejoice Marriage Ministries and read the emails daily, wavering between hope and desire to let go of my marriage. Fast forward and my husband is back home, but it was not a wonderful marriage. He was back in the throes of alcoholism, and I was full of anger and disdain. BUT a little over two years ago, he decided to take a different job and quit drinking the day he got the job. It was a miracle. During the last couple of years (even while living apart) our marriage and lives thrived. It wasn’t perfect, but he had regained my trust and respect. We were making plans for a beautiful future. Then God called him home unexpectedly. I mourn him and our future but glad we had these years.”  (California)

“Earlier this year I shared my testimony that I was able to pray with my husband after he told me had a girlfriend. Jesus was in there. After that prayer, we had no contact for some time. He also had no contact with our young kids. I did the Daniel Fast; shared it with nobody. It was a sacred time between me and God. God gave me all the Bible verses to pray over my husband and the person he was involved with. I opened my house for him. He was there for the birthdays and later he told me there was no other person anymore. He cleaned out our yard house. He said, ‘I threw a lot of books away and found the Wedding Bible.’ When I opened it, there was a Bible verse that God gave me a month before. And in the back of the Bible, a verse that God had given me two years ago. My husband is slowly coming back into our lives. We can pray and he loves to talk about revelations. God is working.”  (Belgium)

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  James 5:16

“This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies…Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Zech 4:6,10

My verses today and goes along with these tesimonies. Praise God for his work – small beginnings in our prodigals.
