Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Seeing Things as Jesus Sees Them

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”  Matthew 5:27-32

When did you have your last eye examination? Are your eyes seeing everything properly? I check my eyes every year and often end up with a new prescription. The Lord wants us to see the world through His eyes as we follow Him. When we look at the circumstances through human eyes, we don’t have the proper perspective.

Take time to do a self-examination to see if you are protecting your eyes from the temptations of the world. What are some ways you may sin before God with your eyes? Ask the Lord to reveal areas in your life that need to be changed.

I encourage you to read Proverbs, Chapters 1 through 9. You will find out it talks about the eyes and the warnings to men and women who may fall into temptation.

For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life, keeping you from your neighbor’s wife, from the smooth talk of a wayward woman. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes. For a prostitute can be had for a loaf of bread, but another man’s wife preys on your very life. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?  Proverbs 6:23-27

Let me give you an example of what the Holy Spirit may be saying to you:

    • Don’t take a second look at that woman or man.
    • You do not need to watch that television show.
    • Don’t visit that website. Block it.
    • Why are you reading that type of book?
    • Why are you watching that type of movie?
    • Do you know who you are chatting with on that website?

Thank You, Lord, for Your discernment and warnings. Thank You for Your love and correcting hand when the enemy could tempt me to go on a detour road very easily. Lord, protect me, my spouse, and my children from the evil ones’ tricks and schemes. Lord, may I desire to read Your Word daily to keep my heart pure. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

Be careful that Satan does not blind you to the world’s temptations in different ways. Be careful not to become prideful or self-righteous in standing for the restoration of your marriage.

May you desire to do the will of God regarding your life and marriage. Today, pray that your husband or wife will be set free from the cravings of the sinful nature, the lust of the eyes, the evil or the hardened heart, or the temptations of the world. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Bondage Breaker from all sins. Believe in your Lord’s mighty power for your spouse and marriage to be set free from the enemy’s grip and trap. Jesus Christ defeated Satan by shedding His Blood on the cross at Calvary for all sinners!

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17

God bless,

Amen! Thank you Charlyne! Father help us see the way You see our lives and situations. We call to You, answer us and show us great and mighty things that we do not know. ( Jeremiah 33:3)

Canvas and Clay
There’s a healing light
Just beyond the clouds
Though I’ve walked through fire
I see clearly now
I know nothing has been wasted
No failure or mistake
You’re an artist and a potter
I’m the canvas and the clay
