Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. Psalm 32:1-2
This Lord’s Day, please pray with me that thousands of prodigal husbands, wives and rebellious children will become desperate enough this very day to leave their sinful lifestyle. Please keep praying for your husband/wife/child and all prodigal spouses around the world to have their own spiritual encounter as Moses did with the Burning Bush or as Saul did with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
Today, pray your husband/wife and others will cry out to God, asking for repentance from their sins, leaving their rebellious and sinful lifestyle. They may become like Bob, who knew he had to do something as the Holy Spirit would not stop hounding him to the point that he felt tormented. Jesus wants every sinner NOT to be condemned, but to, “Go now and leave your life of sin” as he told the adulterous woman in John 8:1-11.
NO ONE is hiding their sins from God’s eyes. He knows and sees everything and every person will be standing before God on Judgment Day. (1 John 3:18-20) Bob knew that he was an embarrassment to God and he had the Holy Spirit speak to him many times. He finally came to the point of fearing God, again.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord” — and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:3-5
As you pray to the Lord, He will give you a peace that no one else can explain. Please pray daily for your husband or wife to knock down the walls of no communication or that the Lord will remove their anger or unforgiveness or unfaithfulness or lies from the enemy. The Holy Spirit will reveal God’s truths over and over to your beloved spouse. But you need to seek the Lord daily and choose to live in God’s peace.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
How many times do you have to forgive your spouse for all that they have done to you and to your family? Let’s look at what the Lord teaches us:
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” Matthew 18:21-22
When David was confronted by Nathan about his sins of adultery and murder, David cried out by praying a prayer which is Psalm 51. May I suggest that you pray Psalm 51 frequently with your husband’s or wife’s name in it. It is a powerful psalm with many promises in it. David cried out for God’s mercy. May you cry out for God’s mercy and grace and God’s love for your spouse until they have godly sorrow as they repent of their sins, asking Jesus Christ to become Savior and Lord of their life.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin… Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:1-2, 10
Below is a scripture where David is telling others to listen to the instruction of the Lord. He urges them to trust the Lord and obey Him! Just imagine if your husband or wife or child would humble themselves to confess their sins with repentance and change their lifestyle immediately! Imagine what could happen suddenly! Get ready and start praying Psalm 32 and 51 both and let’s see what the Lord is going to do in your life and marriage this next week!
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! Psalm 32:8-11
