Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives be rescued from the fierce? But this is what the Lord says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.” Isaiah 49:24-25
I wish I could come to your home and pray with you. I wish that I could sit down with you and your spouse and share all that the Lord has taught me over the years. I would try to encourage you that you can stand up against the enemy and say, “Enough is enough!
You can’t stop standing for your marriage once restoration happens. You need to stay on your knees and remind the enemy that he has been defeated. Jesus Christ paid the price by shedding His blood on the cross. You can stand on the promises of the Savior and Lord of your life. Restoration may not look like you imagined, but don’t give up on what God can do.
“I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—
everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6-7
“I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.” Ezekiel 34:16
Is your spouse still struggling in sin? The Lord can deliver your spouse from adultery, gambling, drug or alcohol addictions, pornography, abuse, or any other sin. Nothing is too hard for the Lord.
Not every spouse comes home repentant and changed. Pray that our Lord will open your prodigal’s eyes so that they can see the truth. Pray that they will be obedient to the Lord’s calling their name to repent and follow Him.
“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” Luke 15:7
There is freedom in Christ. Every person who has opened themselves to the sinful nature can repent and be delivered from the bondage of sin. It is necessary to break any generational curses that may have been passed on for you or the generations to follow. We can close doors that have been opened because of our lack of knowledge and repent for our sins. We can be set free from our sinful nature and walk in the Spirit.
May the Lord increase your faith and give you hope and encouragement as you continue the fight for your marriage in this new season. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you His principles and precepts, and then apply them to your walk with the Lord. May the Lord rebuild and restore your family on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:16-18
“…He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. Ephesians 3:12
