Charlyne Cares

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Who Are You Listening To?

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11

What is God saying to you about your marriage? Have you written down any scriptures or the words He has given you? There are so many things competing for our attention nowadays. We need to be intentional about who we are listening to, or the background noise of life will drown out the Lord.

God’s Word will never return void. We hear from people ready to quit or allow hopelessness to attack them because they look at the present circumstances instead of remembering what the Lord has already spoken to them. Do you recall how Satan was defeated when Jesus had fasted forty days and forty nights? Jesus’ words were: “It is written.” Should we do any less? Satan’s name in Hebrew means “accuser” or “adversary.” The enemy wants to deceive you and steal God’s plan and purpose for your life, marriage, and generations to come. (John 10:10)

The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  Matthew 4:3-4

I know that your life has changed since your marriage problems began, but I urge you to pray that the Lord will start bringing back the good memories of your marriage. Ask the Lord to erase all your mistakes from your mind as you confess your sins and repent, asking the Lord for His forgiveness. Then ask the Lord to erase your spouse’s remembrance of bad memories.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.  Psalm 77:11-12

Remember – what God has done for you
Remove – anything He wants to remove
Renew – your relationship with God
Recommit – your ways to be His ways

Today, open your eyes and ears to the message that the Lord speaks to your heart. I remember the pain that you are going through as if it were yesterday. I had to have a crisis happen in our marriage to turn my eyes to the Lord for His divine answers. Sometimes the pain is necessary to get your attention. There must often be hurt before healing. Many people today do not respond to biblical truths until they experience pain. Are you listening to God for His truths, or are you only turning to Him when you are hurting?

Jesus Christ wants you to commit to Him and your marriage. Real discipleship implies commitment, surrendering your all to His will and way. Your pain may be necessary for your spiritual growth.

Where were you and your spouse with your marriage before this pain? It will hurt for a season, but it will be worth it in the end, as you will grow spiritually. The Lord will start restoring and resurrecting your dead marriage in His way and timing. God is looking at your whole life, and you only look at one piece of the puzzle. (Read John 15:1-8)

Do you remember these scriptures?

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”  Luke 15:4-7

Don’t forget the words the Lord has spoken to you. Are you going to be a doubting Thomas or will you be like Mary Magdalene, who loved the Lord so much that she believed anything He said because He had changed her life completely?

You have a choice every day. Are you going to listen to the Lord’s voice of instruction or listen to the voice of the enemy? I pray that you will pick up your cross and follow your Lord Jesus Christ as His way is the only way!

God bless,

God’s Word will never return void. We hear from people ready to quit or allow hopelessness to attack them because they look at the present circumstances instead of remembering what the Lord has already spoken to them.

Don’t forget the words the Lord has spoken to you. Are you going to be a doubting Thomas or will you be like Mary Magdalene, who loved the Lord so much that she believed anything He said because He had changed her life completely?

How do you not be a doubting Thomas when the circumstances are just piling up to hopelessness?

How do you know for sure God is saying He will restore your marriage? I believe He has told me, but then why do I have a divorce looming over my head? My husband is actively trying to divorce me. Everything is pending & I have until August 25th to have a written response…please if I can have this community of standers come together to pray for God to intervene in a mighty way. Panic & fear is crippling me right now & making me feel like why would God give me all these confirmations?! All this hope…to tease me? To mislead me? To get my hopes up? Because that is how it feels…would someone from RMM please touch on this? You can see my previous messages on the other devotionals where I share the confirmations, but they keep coming… actually even just this verse in Isaiah 55:11 I read this the night before I saw this devotion…so all these what I would think are confirmations, yet my husband is trying to divorce me. Am I in denial like people in my life are telling me? Am I wanting it so bad I am seeing the confirmations from the lord saying this when maybe they really aren’t? I just feel so confused…
