Charlyne Cares

Are you standing for the restoration of your marriage? A daily devotional that will offer encouragement from God’s Word as you stand for the restoration of your marriage.

Will You Be Faithful?

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Will you be faithful to the Lord and His Word? Are you being faithful to your beloved spouse and your wedding vows? I know that you can tell me all that your spouse has done to you, and your family. So many of you have faced some horrific circumstances. My prayer is that you will choose to be faithful to your covenant marriage and vows that you spoke at your wedding. Let me encourage you to examine your own spiritual life, and your walk with your Lord to see if you are faithful as a spouse in God’s eyes.

May I challenge you to be faithful until the Lord takes you home to be with Him in Heaven. I pray that you will never compromise God’s standards and settle for any counterfeits in your life. Watch out for the temptations from the enemy. I know the first task of the enemy every day is to try to get you to give up on standing in the gap for your spouse and for God’s assignment for your marriage restoration. God’s wants the best for you and your beloved spouse. Ask the Lord this week if you are being a faithful child of God.

Today I am doing an acrostic of the word faithful to help examine your own heart.

F — Be a faithful servant.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'” Matthew 25:21

A — Be alert.

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith… 1 Peter 5:8-9

I — Live a life of integrity.

The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9

T — Teachable , becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and a doer of the Word of God.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it — he will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25

H — Know the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off — for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:38-39

F — Never stop forgiving your spouse and others. God will fight for your marriage and your entire family’s salvation if you stand firm.

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25

“‘You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'” 2 Chronicles 20:17

U — Understand God’s Word by applying His principles to your daily life.

I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:104-105

L — Love covers over a multitude of sins.

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:7-8

Let me suggest that during your devotion time today you take time to look in the back of your Bible in the concordance for additional scriptures for the word, faithful. There are so many more wonderful scriptures that will encourage and bless you.

My prayer for you today is that you will hunger and thirst for the Word of God daily. As you do this, you will grow and mature in the Lord. What a blessing from the Lord as He prepares you from the inside out to become the Christ-like husband or wife that your beloved spouse needs and you want to be.

Your Lord God is faithful. As you wait on the Lord’s timing for your husband’s or wife’s heart to be transformed, continue to seek and grow in being more faithful to the Lord’s will and way in your life and marriage. Don’t be deceived by the enemy, by giving up on God’s best for you and your beloved spouse and marriage! Stand on the promises of God that He has given you. He is faithful!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

God bless,
Charlyne
