Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2-3
As I read God’s Holy Word, I reflect on the many men who were anointed to write down the events as God instructed them to do so many years ago. That written Word is so valuable.
I try to be mindful of how important it is for me to write down notes, thoughts, and prayer requests. Have you ever found an old note and marveled at the handwriting from a loved one no longer with us?
As God’s Word speaks to you during your Bible reading time, jot down some notes on paper or even in your phone. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you each day. God does speak to His children.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
Has the Lord been showing you His will for your marriage? Pray, asking the Lord questions and ask Him to reveal His perfect will about your spouse and marriage. Spend some time looking at the many scriptures about marriage. God hates divorce. You and your spouse are one flesh.
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. The days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their forefathers to possess,’ says the LORD.” Jeremiah 30:1-3
We hear from people every day that the Lord is speaking to them, giving them scriptures, signs, and miracles. I pray that you will get to know your awesome, mighty God and know that He is no respecter of persons. Your testimony about your marriage being restored will be told for generations by your loved ones. You are teaching them faithfulness, unconditional love, forgiveness and the power of your Lord God.
Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. Psalm 145:3-5
If you do not have a journal or diary started, may I suggest you start one now. Try to go back to when your spouse left or when you were having marriage problems, by asking the Lord to bring back to mind anything that He has told you previously that you have not written down. Start asking your Lord for directions and answers to what He wants you to do.
I journaled while Bob was gone and he kept a diary. When we compared our books after our restoration, we saw amazing patterns of answers to my prayers on special dates when I was often pleading and asking the Lord for signs. We also saw many times God was speaking to Bob to come home, which he disobeyed for a season. The Lord wants to talk to you. He wants to show you His plans and purpose for your life.
We serve an awesome, mighty God! Do you know Him that way? God loves you, and He is hurting with you. He will never abandon you, reject you or abuse you. Let Him show you His plan for your future.
Are you depressed, oppressed, weary, tired, lost your hope and faith? Go get some of your notebooks or diaries since you started praying and standing for your spouse. Then start reading all the things that the Lord has said or shown you. Do you see where the hand of God has moved in your situation? You may need to repent for grumbling and complaining as the Israelites did in Genesis.
Don’t give up on the assignment God has given you.
Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness. Isaiah 30:8
I know that you will be amazed by what the Lord will reveal to you in your devotion time. Start looking, listening, expecting answers and miracles from your Heavenly Father. Then don’t forget to, “Write it down!”
